Lucid dreams connected with sleeping environment

      Hello dreamers

A recent problem I've been having is that once I become lucid, I quickly become aware of the sound of my breathing, which draws attention to the motion of breathing, which ultimately draws attention to me really feeling more like I'm under the covers in my bedroom... this quickly ruins the lucidity of my dream.

Has anyone else experienced this, and if so - did you overcome it?

      Sweet dreams - mG

My guess would be that you get lucid while not sleeping deep enough. That's why you are aware of your body. Have you tried stabilizing by yelling out loud "stabilize now", or anything else, that takes your mind off of the sound of you breathing untill you get into little deeper sleep?

But I bet this will not repeat too often. Good luck

Try stabilizing the dream first. After stabilizing I lose all awareness of my real body

I hate being under the covers with my head under it, i avoid it. It makes me not lucid much.

I agree with all. Mostly stabilizing though.

Sleeping is losing awareness of our environment, so whenyou realize you are ssleeping, thinking about your environment normally wakes you up (nothing is 100%)

So the opposite of that is paying attention to the environment around you. Go through the senses! Touch works great for most people, sight seems to work better for me. I would recomend both.

Of course expectation also plays a huge role, so saying things like 'stabilize now' would make you expect it to stabilize.

It all gets easier with more LDs, especially if you practice things like expectation and stabilization when in a waking state. Visualization is important.
