Exclamation Can't stabilize lucid dream for shish

So first of all hi, I just registered today .
I've been doing lucid dreaming a while ago, and managed to have some, but I have one consistent problem.
I can't stabilized the dream when I am lucid.
I went on to lucid dreaming reddit, asking how could i stabilize the dream, but they couldnt tell me anything new.

I tried to rub my hands, to spin, to focus on the dream stimuli , everything , but still the same thing happens: I get blind in the dream, then after a few seconds , I wake up.
Mind you, after i go blind, I still can sense the wall I was touching in the dream and i can feel whatever was touching me , its like going blind, then I just vanish with the dream, my dream body ,and the whole dream, and I find myself in my bed ,awake , in real life.

How could I finally solve this? Does this have to do something with my life style or how many hours I sleep?
      Any help is appreciated

Hey, welcome to Dreamviews. I sometimes have problems with becoming blind in some dreams. Whenever that happens, I've found that either imagining images of the dream can help. It's also a good idea to just lay down on the floor and stay still, that way you wake up but remain still, performing a DEILD and entering another dream.

I do not know about your lifestyle but so I couldn't tell if that has anything to do with it. Are you getting 6-8 hours of sleep? The more you sleep, you'll have more and longer REM cycles. It's also possible you're going lucid at the end of your dream cycles too. If that's the case, using a technique such as WILD or DEILD where you enter the dream at the start of the REM cycle would give you more time in your dreams. That's all I can think of, I hope I was of help somehow.

Is it possible you get to excited when you get Lucid, basically your heart starts beating too fast and adrenaline gets going and immediately you would wake up? If so there are lots of ways with dealing with that for example training yourself to not get too excited with ice cold showers and stuff ...

Oh yes, DEILD , I want to try it , but i always forget.
I get like 10 hours of sleep in total but nowadays i wake up around 6 am, is that a good time for DEILD,WILD,WBTB?
Btw thats a great idea about dream blindness , i will try to imagine what was there before the dream falls away.
Thank you it was quite helping, I guess

      Bra

The excitement thing is not really a problem, I thinked about it , tbh I am quite calm when lucid dreaming ,but not sure If thats true. Tbh I feel quite good when i realize I am dreaming so my heartrate may go up a bit...

Tbh at most of those short lucids I feel like i am in a very unstable state ,and one move makes the whole thing crash.

It may be because I usually enter the dream(if I succeed) around 8 am ? Sounds quite late, but at most days ,thats the only time when I can try .

PS: This morning I had a lucid dream that was like 5 minuts long, so yay.

How many lucids have you had? I think that the closer we are to the end of a rem cycle, usually the more aware we are. This means that quite often, especially at the beginning of LDing, we become lucid at the very end of a dream. This in turn makes us think that we are prone to wake up as soon as we become lucid and in trying to stay in a dream, we actually wake ourselves up. My longest dreams started out stable. I usually only stabilize if I start from a wild or if one of my senses stops working, I use something called imagination control to feel the sense I am missing, because I feel like concentrating on other senses can amplify the sense of loss of one of them. Lose sight, concentrate on touch, sight gets worse, think you are gonna wake up because in the past when I lost my sight I woke up (even unconsciously thinking this) and then waking up.
I have some goals and things to help stabilize, but i would recommend not worrying about stabilization until about 50 LDs. Before then, you don't even have a good sample size to say if it is something you struggle with. not trying to discourage, but basically say that it might not be a problem, just a phase, and concentrating on it might make it a problem in your foundation.

I will try to imagine back a lost sense as it was suggested previously, so thanks.
Had 42 lucid dreams worth of mentioning, most of these were quite short , and I had even more where I just entered then got dropped out.
I probably should stop thinking subsconciously that I'll wake up if get blind.
Tell me those goals and things help to stabilize, I need them.

I mostly use WBTB WILD and RC

Alright. The first thing to do is not ever think that your ld time is limited. If you have visualization time or affirmation time, you want to imagine long lucids and think things like "man! My lucids are so long." This is pretty simple, but positive always beats negative.
Never think about time in a lucid. When you are in a lucid, don't worry about if you have enough time to do such and such, or if it is ending soon. Don't have thoughts about time at all, be comfortable in the environment. Treat it like an old friend. When picking goals, dont worry about if you will have enough time, because you will be back soon if it runs out. I do not subscribe to the excitement wakes people up theory. I get so excited in non lucids all the time, as well as lucids now and it doesn't bother me.
Deild is better than stabilizing 99% of the time. Dream starts losing feeling? Just stop moving and prepare for a DEILD, maybe even shut your eyes and lay down. Do a motionless RC when you feel yourself in bed and then jump back. If you can't DEILD back, then the REM is probably over and be thankful for the time you had, because you didn't just have a small lucid, you had an almost non lucid, but you caught it, because you are beast. In this technique, after DEILDing back many many times, I started to notice that my dreams were rarely unstable and I had a hard time DEILDing back at the end, because I had achieved the second one (not worrying about the time) because of this one. Sometimes I would even think the dream was ending, lay down, FA and then go on for a 20 minute dream.
This is something a DC taught me, so maybe take it with a grain of salt, but maybe it will help. Do something you would never do in waking. I mean never never. It was part of my training, so I did it, but it was terrible. The first thing was "walking down the street kill a random dc with your bare hand" second was "injure yourself" (starting with jumping off a train (allowing myself to hurt) and moving to sawing off body part later on), and the others need not be spoken, you get the idea. For a while I couldn't tell if it helped much, but I think it gave me a full idea of how disconnected dreams are as well as how much I am in control. And to really not worry about my actions. Helping with control, stability, and awareness. I consider stability to be a type of control.

Also, good to remember, you have to wake up sometime.

Awesome advice ,thank you , now it all makes sense. I was often afraid of time .
And damn , I'll try DEILD for sure.

How to do a motionless RC?

Well an RC doesn't have to be from a list, it just has to be anything that you can't do in waking. Like fly or something, use tk to throw your sheets off, or you can just always teleport. Haha my triple threat comes back.
I always recommend teleporting. The others are good and work, but teleport anytime you find yourself in your room. If you were awake and not lucid before, you might just wild. If you were just waking from a dream, you might just deild, if you are still in a dream you might just teleport. Haha. Just close your eyes and go to bed. I was actually doing that for a while at the beginning of every dream. Probably need to start again. Is this a dream?? Maybe, lay down, sleep/teleport and know you are in a dream now because you just fell asleep. This also does good to make sure you don't think of dreams as urgent. I got time, ill just lay here.

And what do you mean by teleport?
I tried many ways, making a wormhole, opening the door and expecting another place behind it...Nothing worked.
If I fall asleep in the dream, I will find myself in a whole other place? I could just wake up for real

Btw had another LD: I was in a school and searched for the dream guide, but didnt find it, it didnt come to me either. But I forgot to DEILD so it was only one dream , few minutes long

If you are worried about waking, then you are already losing. :/ The point is to not worry about waking,

Teleporting can be hard. I recommend just laying down and going to sleep as the easiest way to teleport, if you wake up because of this, then you can just DEILD back since you are already in the mood for it and all, I don't know if I have ever had it wake me up though. I guess the question I have for you is "Why would closing your dream eyes and laying down make you wake up?" The point isn't to bend the spoon, this is impossible, you just have to realize the truth, that there is no spoon.

Nice goal memory on the dream. Something my DG told me in one of my first LDs was that if I want to stay in a dream, I must treat it like the other DCs treat it (my interpretation of it). After being comfortable down there, I don't have to do that now, but it is a good thing to fall back on if I do start losing stability.

Something I wrote recently to another LDer.
recommend teleporting as a main goal. If you can teleport, you don't have to worry about... anything. I spent a couple hundred lucid dreams working on teleporting (trying to get to specific places and trying an always go to sleep at the beginning of a lucid type thing) and I can teleport no matter the situation, even if a DC is trying to stop me from teleporting (ie man with glasses). If things start going south, or I worry if it is a dream or reality, or it starts getting unstable, or I want any dream goal, I can teleport. It is a good "rejection of your surroundings" too, and can really help you latch on to the fact that it is a dream and you are in control. Having a control that you can do at will no matter what is a good Ace in the hole.
Here is another thing if you are struggling with teleporting
      http://www.dreamviews.com/dream-cont...-teleport.html

I spent a long time perfecting teleporting (300 LDsish) and I use it in almost every LD now. It is the best ability to get. Also, you can just blame your stability on your place, teleport somewhere else that is a stable world.

Will try those if I fail,
I actually wanted to write that not worrying about time and stuff actually works so thanks for that

And to teleport, I want to learn some visually cool way to teleport, so uh idk, I will try those if I fail to make my own method
