Played Skyrim for the first time yesterday. It was amazing! It was a bit of a pain in the arse getting used to the controls at first, but from then on it was pure pleasure.

What HS said. Controls are a pain in the ass to get used to, and the mouse is killing (Both in game and in real life) me. But eh, I'll get used to it.

Even on the lowest graphical setting, it looks stunning. Can't wait to get back home.

Now, I can't wait to get my PSU in, so I can can some dragon ass the highest graphical settings >:3

If you go to My Documents>My Games>Skyrim> SkyrimPrefs.ini and open it in notepad you'll see a bunch of text settings.
Hit Ctrl+f and type in mouse and hit next. Hit next until you find mouseacceleration=1, and change it to mouseacceleration=0, then save and exit.
Now your mouse will act like any other game.

Just beat the storyline in Skyrim, and it was a complete disappointment... There were some aspects of the storyline that were kind of cool, but for the most part it was completely dissappointing. I guess if I enjoyed pointless exploring and making my character completely OP I would have enjoyed it more, but that's not my playstyle. I played on Master and beat the game at a mere 16. The puzzles were stupidly simple. I solved all of them in about a minute and they required no thought at all. And then they even have the EXACT same puzzle twice... But by far the most disappointing aspect was...

Spoiler for Mild spoilers for the most anticlimatic final boss ever:

I guess this just isn't my type of game. But still, on Master difficulty it should be difficult, the puzzles should actually require some thought, and the final boss should be EPIC not an absolute joke... Oh well, I guess it's time to go back to my NG+ on Dark Souls and have a satisfyingly difficult experience.

I like the look of the right side better. It looks more realistic. The left looks a bit cartoonish.

Fighting my first dragon was extremely frustrating because of the mouse issues. I've already changed mouseaccelleration and disabled vsync and something else, played in a lower resolution, disabled the xbox-360 controller option, downloaded some program called Game Booster. Those fixed the problem a bit but I still have it. Traveling across terrain isn't that big of a deal, because mouse responses don't have to be instant. But while in narrow caverns and while fighting enemies it's extremely annoying.

I agree with a lot of this, only thing I don't agree with is the difficulty. I play on default difficulty and at sometimes the game just goes batshit on me. The main storyline... Not so much.
And oh yeah the puzzles, I actually found them to be almost comical, because of how out of place they seemed. I mean, if you're an ancient people trying to guard some really important artifact, you'd think they'd have a harder puzzle :V
And there was one case that I had massive trouble with, not because the puzzle was very hard, but for a long time I just couldn't find the "hint". Actually some simple doors have been harder puzzles for me, because I had to look around for a chain...

And then the fact that all dragons are kind of easy, while any normal bandit or forsworn or whatever that uses frost has me downing liters of potions constantly... But somehow dragon fights still manage to feel epic for me.

Actually I think maybe the problem can have something to do with level scaling. I noticed that at one point, I just started to have a much harder time with bandits and what not than I used to. I think, if you level up by improving skills that don't improve you in battle, the game will actually get harder as you level up.

I'm very glad there's other things to do in Skyrim, the main quest was indeed pretty bad. The main quest is also the only thing in Oblivion that I've played just once.

It doesn't look very good. Maybe it requires a lot of hardware but the models and lighting and animations make it look like an old game.

Same here. the only main quest in the elder scrolls series worth doing was the Morrowind one. And even then I didn't even finish it.

I love exploring and completely ignore most quests for as long as possible. THe only exception is the thieves guild. I'm just now getting into it (at level 17). I was having too much fun just covering the map to be bothered with it. But I steal everything I can lol. I'm constantly breaking into homes.

For those who want a cheat (that's not *really* a cheat for a thief)... whenever you train, pickpocket your money back, save the game and continue

The hardest enemies I've encountered thus far have been hired thugs. I'd much rather fight a dragon than just one of the thugs (let alone the 3 that weren't sent for me!).

Another complaint is that stealing and sneak are MUCH too easy. I've had bad guys walk inches beside me and not see me as I shot them full of arrows. And so long as the item you're stealing isn't in the NPC's direct line of sight, they don't notice you taking it.
I still hate how dark the game is, but what can you do? I need a new tv.
Anyone know of any enchanted weapon or armor with light or "feather"? I miss those the most out of enchanted gear.

Yea, but the thing is. You can run through entire dungeons. The 2nd to last dungeon would have taken hours of whoring quick saves to get through for me. The enemies took miniscule damage and I died in one hit. But I could easily sprint through the entire dungeon. Then when the 'boss' of the dungeon showed up. I ran right past it and into another room... The door should be locked until the 'boss' is dead. Fail.

^I feel like I'm cheating when I do that, so I usually don't. But in Oblivion, I got so sick of the actual Oblivion realm that I started running all the way to the sigil stone. I really hated that place.

A little over 90hr in and I'm right at 67% completion.

Xbox 360 will get the first 2 DLCs, if anyone is interested.

Just bought the game today, haven't played endless hours yet. The controls are a bit weird, but it's pretty good. Annoying at the beginning, just like many video games though. But I dig it~

Haha, I was actually just on my way to start the thieves guild with my new character. I don't completely ignore quests, but I do get sidetracked all the time when I'm traveling :p Like, heading towards a town and suddenly, hey is that a tower over there? Traveling turns into quite the adventure in and of itself.

I'm also being sneaky, and have also had that awkward moment with someone looking directly at me, standing there for a moment, then going "Guess it was nothing."
I was just looking for a video related to this when I stumbled opun something even better.

Here's something that makes me really, really look forward to when the CS comes out.
I had no idea about this, but almost all of Tamriel is already in Skyrim, well technically.

Hahah, awesome. Actually that just never occured to me. I usually at least try to kill whatever is trying to kill me. (Exceptions: Spriggan)

Also, do you people find the children in Skyrim annoying? o.0 Apperantly a lot of people really don't like them, or at least that's the way it seems on this other forum I'm on. But then again, over there they hate everything.
Spoiler for Good god, this will get Skyrim banned in all the countries:

      Awesome videos Maeni!

      Love the Screenshots, Sornaensis.

Whenever I'm in an enemies place, I HAVE to kill everyone. I've never just run through an area (and yes, saving the game does get old after awhile, especially seeing how- for some strange reason- I automatically want to draw my weapon when I save. But you always had to push "start" to save so I've no idea why I think it's different now )

I also miss the way our hotkeys (?) used to be. Pausing the game to switch from bows to sword to spell to heal is really annoying. BUT, we do have more favorites now....

      Those are really clean, Sornaensis.
How would I get a screenshot like that from a console, is that possible?

Daym, awesome screenshots indeed. Gotta love how the environments look. Although sometimes I kind of miss the very vibrant, colorful and more flowery look of, for example, the forests around Skringrad.

      Picture of my own;

And also, as I said before I was headed to the Thieves Guild, but the way I had made up my character in my head, she kind of turned out as a likable character, didn't feel right at all making her do the stuff the Thieves Guild wanted her to.
Now, I've only just tried like, the very beginning of the Thieves Guild, but I missed that air of honor they had in Oblivion. And it always seems silly when quests try to appeal to wealth, as if I didn't have enough money already...

So I turned around and walked away, and my newest character is now as far from an evil character as possible, apart from being a part time kleptomaniac. (And I also used some console magic to split her into two seperate characters, so now she has a bit of an evil, assassin twin.)

How would I get a screenshot like that from a console, is that possible?
I think you can record and take screenshots from a console, but I've never seen it explained just how you do it. But I don't think it would be possible to take screenshots without the HUD, as it is removed with a console command. ("tm")

Those screenshots are amazing, especially that aurora in Maeni's. I realize now I must have been playing on a lower resolution or something, because my game definitely doesn't look like that. Next time I play I'll adjust the settings. Maybe that will fix the mouse problem too. I haven't actually played in over a week though.

      Noice, congratz!

      Aaaand, dumping stuff.

      Random pictures, not mine:

      And my own;
This dragon crashed, but since I was on the peak of a mountain, instead of sliding across the ground, it smashed directly into the side of the mountain. The ground on the peak of the mountain still seemed to think a dragon was sliding over it, but it sounds cooler to imagine the dragon just died on impact, instead of the reality which is that the whole fight bugged out completely :V

Still looked cool when the dragon fell down the side of the mountain and landed there.

And something that may be useful:

The way I've heard it, leveling hits an extreme slowdown when you reach level 50, but you can actually get to level 81.

      For some reason o.0

      Yep, the wiki says so
