      Hee hee, I'm level 27, playtime 36,5 hours~

Actually starting to work on the main quest now... Actually I think the amount of quests is a little overwhelming. Actually caught myself deciding against heading towards a new town just because I knew I'd be drowning in quests. And also my loot is overwhelming me. Seriously I bought a house for the sole purpose of getting rid of all my junk, (Can't even sell it, nobody in any town seems to have the money to buy my shit) now I've just stuffed all kinds of bullshit into a chest, and now my inventory is full again...
Well I'll sell some things, I'm near Riften so perhaps they have some money :V

Finished the Dark Brotherhood, took me like 7 hours. Onto the thieves guild! Level 23 argonian, stealth/archery based . I bought a house just so I could store all the ridiculously heavy fucking dragon bones and stuff. Completed like 20 misc. sidequests, so entertaining.

Getting it tomorrow, I can't wait. Just about all my friends have it and say it's amazing. I think I'll go with a mage/archer type character, but I'll have to wait and see. This looks like it could easily be the game of the year, or even ever!

I ran into a little girl who was bullying a little boy to give her his money or something. lol wtf.

I really like that inn in Hammerfell (if that's the name). The bard is nice to listen to and the whole place has a really comforting atmosphere at night.

Did the Mage's College quest first, then the main storyline.

Right now, I'm going through the Companion quests, mainly because it has a spell I want as a reward. Only reason I know this is because I bought an official strategy guide in hopes to find more spells to aid me.

I am an Argonian, stealth based but I like to use a sword and shield, as well as conjuration to summon a Flame Atronach. 35 hours total.

Are you leveling a ton of skills? Or do you just have that much of free time?

      Edit:

Also 17 hours level 15 Redguard. Sneak, one hand, with a little smithing. I haven't joined any group other than the Dark Brotherhood...Nearly like my Oblivion run. I'm obviously expecting that I'll have to choose sides one day though.

I have a lot of free time, but if you want to level your skills up faster in the beginning there is a birthstone ( the lover ) on the left hand side of the map, towards the middle that gives you +15 faster experience gained in every single skill.

I really wish Bethesda would have put in the option to build our own homes, furniture and what not. I absolutely love crafting my own armor, smelting ore and refining my gear. Man I'd spend all of one day alone chopping down trees and mining iron ore for nails to use..etc.

Just wait until the toolset is released. You'll be able to make much more than your own personal home.

The mods will be glorious indeed! I modded the shit out of oblivion, added like 30 mods ranging from new creatures and weapons to guard fixes to quests that add like 20+ hours of gameplay.

Are mods only available on the PC? If so then that's super lame...

      Yes, only for the PC.
It's just not really possible for them to add it to consoles...

I'm totally on a Skyrim withdrawal because school is forcing me to face this infamous Real Life thing.

Leaving this here, I really love this guy's videos. He's made a video like this for New Vegas called "Wild Wild Wasteland" and it's hilarious.
But! Beware spoilers; I haven't even watched it all myself because of spoilers, but I can say that up till around 4:40 it's fairly spoiler-free. Constant vigilance!

Aaaahh, that's so unfortunate. But I don't have a gaming PC, so... no sense worrying about it, I guess. Plus I like remotes. ^^'

Still haven't played it but I've heard nothing but good about the game so far. I've never played an elder scrolls game even though I am a fan of RPG style games. If I play skyrim first, will I not be able to understand the story given that it continues from the previous games or is the storyline completely different than the earlier games in the series??

I'm not sure if I should get Skyrim, because I didn't really like Oblivion at all, but I loved Fallout 3 and NV and played them for 200+ hours? IMO Oblivion seemed boring and it lacked atmosphere. What do you guys think?

It shouldn't matter at all. The story doesn't even really continue from Oblivion. It's a whole new story.

Well, when it comes to the atmosphere of the world, I guess it gets hard to tell whether you'll like it or not. I liked Oblivion for being so vibrant and colorful and magical, and I loved Fallout's atmosphere for being so bleak and depressing and wastelandy. Skyrim is a lot like Oblivion in that it is colorful, focused on the beauty of landscapes, mountains. It's very adventurey, which is similar to Oblivion. But contrary to Oblivion, Skyrim also has this rugged feeling. It has that "viking" air about it almost everywhere, and it definitely makes it feel different. Also inns and cities are amazing in my opinion because some of them really do have the feeling of a cozy little village. Especially in the inns.

Well if there's anything bad about the game, it'd be the interface and some problems that some PC users are currently having.

And yeah, Skyrim takes place like 200 years after Oblivion, so all you miss out is a vague reference to "the Oblivion Crysis" every now and then.

My only regret is that you cannot parry on dual wield Also, it is strange that there is race bonus for Khajiit for unarmed combat and heavy armor has feat that boosts it, yet there is no unarmed skill anymore. Maybe it is just to boost your brawling capacity

Also, leveling has never been an issue on Elder Scroll games since it is skill based you can easily grab levels if you want to. In Oblivion you didn't want that because the danger level rose with your own level.

About combat it is pretty widespread with combined use of magic, bow and melee. Mobility is also rewarded on light armour since you can dodge better than in oblivion. It is hack and slash, but surprisingly that is what realistic combat is also. Only thing that you could add in my opinion is counterattack system after parry or block. It kind of has pieces of it if you take block perks.

Now if you excuse me, imma back to dungeon crawling.

Jujutsu is the gentle art. It's the art where a small man is going to prove to you, no matter how strong you are, no matter how mad you get, that you're going to have to accept defeat. That's what jujutsu is.

I am REALLY loving the game so far. I just wish it wasn't so dark (and yeah, I changed my default settings. It could be that my TV just completely sucks lol)
I've put in about 5 hours and I'm only level 5. I take my time... plus, I kept dying when stupid Hired Mercs came after me Those guys were TOUGH!! But I do a LOT of thieving lol
I hate that the mercs are sent after you even if no one catches you stealing!
I also miss not being able to carry my alchemy equipment with me. I do a lot of harvesting when I travel and I explore areas along the way.
And I'm uncertain how I feel about food being separate. Making basic fatigue potions out of readily available food is how I made my money early on in the game in Oblivion.

I'm playing a female Argonian archer who specializes in stealth and lockpicking
Too bad no one has discovered a duplication glitch yet. I HATE always having to buy arrows lol

You could always just steel arrows off of enemies. Iron arrows are easy to come by.

Not a lot happened today as far as story completion. I worked on my smith skill and raised it to 100; forged some dragon armor. That's kinda sweet, I guess. I can knock out 100% completion in under 105hr, I almost positive. We'll see.

Can't really check my stats cause I'm at work (and I still can't log onto DV from home ), but I've probably got about 15 hours in. Level 9-ish. (Spent a lot of time just wandering. Still only explored a small section of the map, though.) Trying to keep a steady mix of might and magic, with a bit of emphasis on magic. Just made my way up to the college at Winterhold to learn some more spells and stuff. Killed one dragon so far and done a couple of sidequests. Haven't taken down any elks yet, because they keep hearing me coming, before I spot them. Lol.

Think i'm at level 20 right now. Completed the darkbrotherhood quest...loved it. Thinking about continuing the theives guild, or just go around and get some deadra action going before I continue on to the main quest. Next character is going to have to be a mage of some sort...maybe a warlock or illusionist. I'm already thinking about one because I'm not sure if I'll end up wasting too many points.

Well, some mods are out. HD faces, bodies and smoothing mods, an FXAA mod, a (more) starry sky mod, the obligatory nude mod, various enhanced texture mods, and 100+ more.

Heres a compaison for the FXAA post process injector mod, left being the modded version.
