Yes, under Thelmetic Law, you're not fully Jew unless your mother was. I find that interesting, because it's almost like they had knowledge of mitochondrial DNA, which is only passed on from females to their children. Mitochondrial DNA is how they were able to confirm that all people have a common ancestor, an "Eve" if you will.
Well, that all depends. Purley scriptorial Jews recognized you as being a Jew, (if you submitted to having 'it' clipped,) but there are a few things that Leviticus says you are inelligible to do. (I think I'll look it up in the old Torah and get back to you.)
But at any rate, you would have to proove that you were of Hebrew descent to qualify, I think, (I don't know Canadian law...) But, Judaism is a race and a religion like Cherokee or Pawnee is. I would suppose being a Hebrew by descent would be more important than faith.
Otherwise, you'd have to give every obscure religion minority classification.
