Trippy 2012 Thought

Maybe December 2012, (the proposed end of the world), is really just when everyone on Earth begins to have lucid dreams. Maybe when the stars align or whatever is supposed to happen, all of our thoughts will be connected telepathically when we dream and there will be peace on Earth when we are all in union with the unlimited possibilities of dreams. I came up with this thought because myself, a few friends, and my mom have all had our first lucid dreams in the last week without even trying. As more and more people have them and learn to reap the rewards from them, who knows what may come? Maybe in 2013 everyone in the world will see me as a dancing banana

I think his idea is that the Mayan's predicted in 2012 mankind will become brotherly and not violent toward each other, instead of the world ending. And that could mean every one will lucid dream. But then how we can already lucid dream? What if we will lose that ability then? I personally don't believe in the Mayan's prediction. Also, is this thread in the right section of the forum?

Yeah, I agree. Not specifically with the lucid dreams, but that it ISN'T the end of the world. It *might* be end of the world AS WE KNOW IT. This means that something drastically new will happen. Another user posted in a different thread that whatever caused dreams was sensitive to solar radiation. What if the sun puts out more, and causes us to have more lucid dreams? (I don't think I want my parents finding out what I might do in a LD, though )

(I don't think I want my parents finding out what I might do in a LD, though ) If this is true, it may be likely. I don't believe in any 2012 theories but if I had to make/take one, it would be. We show signs of a magnetic reversal soon. Maybe our brains have some sort of magnetic force and with the pole switch everything will mess up. @_@ It will certainly destroy a ton of our electronics though.

Is it REALLY that hard to understand what he's saying? Nope, I got it, but it just seems so incredibly ridiculous that I'm not sure if he's being serious or not. Truth be told, this is on the top ten list of the silliest things I've ever heard. I see absolutely no reason why any sort of planetary or cosmic event should impact one's ability to lucid dream, or why. If anything of this nature actually happens, I will eat my keyboard.

I see what you did thar. O wait. No I don't. That is Inunderstandible. Well, for some background, I've read a book called Lucid Dreaming: Gateway To The Inner Self by Robert Waggoner. I reccomend everyone wanting to get deeper with their lucid dreams read it. It talks about the 5 levels of lucid dreaming, the first simply being control, and the fifth being in complete oneness with yourself. Secondly, I don't believe the world will end in 2012. Neither am I convinced anything will happen, but I think that if anything does happen, it will be a change in conciousness for humans on earth, not death. And if everyone on earth started having lucid dreams at will, connected or not, we as humans will have a brand new frontier to explore where we can't destroy like we can on earth. This idea is a lot like the singularity idea, without the machines. I named this post "trippy 2012 thought" for a reason lol. Just an idea to consider, not really take seriously

huh? This thread is about 2012.. This thread has been posted in the Lucid Dreaming forum and the OP discusses how 2012 relates to Lucid Dreaming. If you continue to go off the mark, this will be moved to beyond dreaming.

I personally don't think it belongs here anyway. It should be in ED imo. But anyway, yea, I have seen people talking about this being a possibility before. People say it will be a change in the state of mind of people, and I suppose lucid dreaming could be involved in that theory. I'm not going to go on about my beliefs though, it would bring up a whole other argument.

You make science weep. ;__; Do you understand that I could replace "everyone lucid dreams" with "it will constantly rain gumdrops" in your original argument, and it will still have the scientific merit as before? And by that, I mean none? You provide no reason (or evidence) for us to put any faith into your on-the-spot "what-if" scenario. Also, if this thread's getting derailed into general 2012 theories (instead of what could've been (can still become) a valid discussion, that is, "What changes in society would take place if everyone lucid dreams?"), then I'll be forced to either move it, lock it, or merge it with an existing 2012 thread. OP's choice.

Well reecejones87's theory is sort of like this. it goes way more into detail, but basically it would be a paradigm shift, causing everyone to be on a heightened vibrational pattern. And if you know about meditation, you probably know that higher vibrations are good for people like us, doing deep stuff with the brain. He even went as far as to point out certain precursors which supported his idea, like influxes of lots of people eating healthier (to be in top physical shape for the shift) and heightened amounts of Deja Vu. Now still, this is just another theory, but it's quite interesting. I'll try and link the videos once he makes the new ones. He's remaking them without specifically pointing out 2012 so that he doesn't get all those basket-cases strolling in because they searched that date, like what happened before.

I don't really believe in the 2012 at all. Saw a documentary about it some time ago. They said that the reason the mayas stopped the calender might as well be because they felt no need to continue making the calender until so far in the future. But then again, we can never know before 2012 : D

To all you naysayers: dellclown was simply putting forth an idea. You know, it is possible to appreciate, discuss and elaborate an idea without necessarily having to believe that it is true or in this case that it will happen. So chill out with the skepticism already. dellclown's original post does in fact have to do with lucid dreaming and it is everyone else who is turning it into a hyper-offensive against all of the 2012 hoopla. That said, it would be fantastic if such an alignment of the heavens somehow linked everyone's dreams telepathically. Those who already know how to remain lucid in dreams and control them, of course, would probably enjoy it the most initially.
