Show them this thread. They shouldn't bother you (much) after seeing it. Maybe showing this to the counselor would cause a nervous/mental breakdown, so I advise (without a "c") you to only show it to your mom.

People can't argue against majority that knows what they are talking about.

Don't stop because some 'counsoller' (I doubt how much he knows about his profession) thinks you're a lunatic, it's clearly what he's after.

Well yeah. I am just pretty full of that counsellor with her "advices" and just want to get this over with so I can focus better to my DJ in peace.

Tell her you like your life how it is and that she should get the fuck out of it.

But maybe in a more polite way

Well, I am quite sure this one-month off my DJ should get them off my back. Their only point of bugging me is that they think I am somewhat addicted/obsessed with DJ, so by doing this I take that away from them, and then they have no reason to bug me about it.

maybe they should think for a sec and realize how stupid they sound when they say,"well hes kinda addicted to writting a little bit each day". dont think anyone is really addicted to writing, and if they were theyd probably write pages and pages.

Who is this "counselor"? What are her qualifications? any schooling?

This whole fiasco is ridiculous. My suggestion is that you don't talk to your mother or the counselor about your dreams at all.

Sometimes people are afraid of others' dreams, and non-dreamers can have very antagonistic reactions to dreamers.

      ***

Once, I spoke to a man at a Full Moon Pow Wow wearing a fedora of my dreams. I told him I went to the Moon. He asked me, "No, you didn't! Did you meet the Man in the Moon?" to which I replied, "I am the Man in the Moon." He said, "FUCK YOU!"

      Isn't that strange?

I have my theories of where this fear comes from. I notice this pattern of fear or anger reactions from people when others speak of their dreams. Because of this, I have learned to be careful who I speak to about my dreams.

Keep a DJ in secret. You are a lucid dreamer. Don't let anyone hinder you from achieving your dreams. REBEL REBEL REBEL

      @WakingNomad

Completely agree. It really depends on the people. If I mention a dream, some people get really freaked out, I think those are the once with bad recall and tend not to remember dreams so often. Others just seem uninterested.

My counselor however (as I mentioned before, she's awesome) is interested in my dreams. I haven't told her of my lucid dreaming (still thinking about it, but I just told her my dreams are vivid and that they interest me) but she's asking me to tell her about my dreams so she can kind of analyze them and help her understand me. I only tell her my non-lucids though.

People just think "yeah, dreams are nice, but they don't help at all with my life" so they move onto the next thing. So when people talk to them about their dreams, they think the person is trying to escape life or something and is in a case of denial. But they help people a lot more than they think. It's great knowing that you can do something awesome and fun at night and wake up feeling great. Sometimes my dreams set the tone for the day. Or if the future doesn't look too bright, at least you've got your lucid dreaming to help along the way

Oh yes. Especially shared dreaming and beyond dreaming topics. That can really set off people, especially hard-core Christians. I was watching the interview with WakingNomad videos, and my mom overheard some of it and made me stop watching it. She didn't believe in it, so she didn't let me listen to it. Pretty fucking stupid if you ask me.

In Western society, dreams are thought of as "all in your head," and "fantasies." Dreamers are looked at as people seeking to escape "reality."

In some cultures, dreams are not only valued, but considered vital to being a total human.

What I have gathered is that the only(?) real reason that they keep bugging me about this, is that they think I am addicted to it. I've been told that I have some aspects of Asperger syndrome (is an autism spectrum disorder that is characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction, along with restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. It differs from other autism spectrum disorders by its relative preservation of linguistic and cognitive development.) But still, this is just ridiculous.

Should stop after one month though!

Asperger's has nothing to do with this. It's simple xenophobia: fear of the unknown.

Yeah I agree. But they base their actions to that.

But yeah, after one month I can again write to my DJ every day. Although then the counsellor wants me to try and write to DJ with different colored pens every day. Which is pointless, but well, guess I can do that, if that gets that counsellor off my back.

I know that problem, Asperger's just a pathetic excuse to mark charactisics that are 'eccentric' as a disease. Don't let them take your dreams, that's a part no-one will ever control.

Yeah I won't. But anyways, I don't really care if that counsellor wants me to do stupid stuff like the pencil thing, as long as I can write to my DJ every day, which I can after a month.

      So it should be ok.

But what's the point of writing in your DJ with colored pens?

Probably nothing. What I hear from counsellor is that by doing so it might change my dreams somewhat, but I just don't see how. :S

Maybe the colours will "help her interperet how you're feeling". Like I dunno, red means you're angry and then you need to get put on meds.

Yeah. Well, in any case, doesn't bother me TOO much if I just get to write to my DJ. Although it is pointless.

Wow. Lame. Really, if that is the problem what the hell? A dream journal is harmless! My parents don't even care about mine, and they know I love it! Also, by remembering your dreams you're not just wasting your life. Tell your mom she is taking this too serious and that she needs to talk to the "counselor" for parenting.

Yeah, mainly it is the counsellor that is freaking out with the whole thing, my mom is not that much... I chose this one-month break in oder to make it clear, that I don't have any obsession over this, and after one month, counsellor has no reason to try and make me stop keeping my DJ, because there just isn't any point.

Like many have said, it's most probably just the fear of unknown. :/
