What are you listening to while sleeping?

Odd that even though there are quite some threads about music and sleep there is no topic about posting the actual music... Or am I just blind even though I tried searching with everything making sense in the SeFu (Search Function)?

Anyway, I'm curious to know what other people listen to while sleping.

This is supposed to be an equivalent of this thread: http://www.dreamviews.com/f35/what-y...-thread-25355/
Just obviously not for what you randomly listen to, but rather the tracks you have on while sleeping. You are also welcome to post how certain music affects you during sleep.

Starting with answering the question myself. I generally like to sleep to calm or depressive and dark music. The music usually has no effect on my dreams though. Some examples:

      Silver Wings - YouTube

      Graffias - Aliceblue - YouTube

If you have and iPhone download Naturespace (it's free) I like Riverwind Dreaming the most! I find the sound of water extremely relaxing!

Nah I don't have an iPhone, hell even though I have a handy I don't use it, but talking about water you remembered me of some thing that's still missing there: RainyMood.com: Rain makes everything better.
The track on the site is actually a 30 minutes long mp3 track I occasioanlly will use for sleeping as well. Sleeping during a thunderstorm is great, even if it's a fake

I like to try to effect my dreams with my music choice.
This has worked exactly twice, both times with songs off of Jay-Z and Kanye West's album Watch the Throne, specifically the songs Murder to Excellence and Illest Motherf*cker Alive. Both times I had very mafioso dreams (one lucid one not), and in one Jay-Z himself made an appearance (albeit he killed my best friend).
But usually, I listen to AmbiSci for Android's "Just the Rain" with the "Sleep- HP" entrainment in the background.

Me too, especially rain. Once I knew a website, with a rain track. It was just rain, rain, rain. I listened to it often. It's annoying I can't find it. Edit: Hey, I found it in this thread! Rainy mood. Thanks, staysharp!

Dark, relaxing, depressiv music is also my favourite, like the inception soundtracks. (I'm not saying it's bad, it's so amazing. Favourite music )

But the best thing I know sleeping to, is binaural beats.

That's what I intended this thread for, showing others new tracks for sleeping as well as discovering new ones for myself.

I'm hearing too often about inception. It's really hard to get me interrested in a movie but I think I should watch it sometime.

As for the tracks, doesn't anyone have to share a few specific ones?

Inception is amazing. In the start, maybe a little boring, but the last hour is full of action! It's my favourite movie. My favourite actors are in it, it's about dreaming and Hans Zimmer has made the soundtrack, and he's so talented.

      Trailer for inception:

My favourite song, which actually is from inception:

I'm Inception forever thankful, it showed me this amazing lucid-dreaming-world.

I agree that the track is awesome. The first time I listened to it I felt shivers running down my spine for about half a minute. Which is a sign for me that I genuinly enjoy a track. But the difference in volume between start/end and middle is to big for normal sleeping. But it might be good as an inducting track in a longer playlist, the technique that as far as I can tell is responsible for my first lucid dream.

For me it works fine sleeping to, but it's perfect for daydreaming. Imagine you, that in the start it's just a dream.. After a while, when the music is more loud, become lucid! And then just do whatever you wants to, it's amazing! I love it.

Another wonderful track, I love sleeping to is another inception soundtrack:

Whoa - it's my signature picture!

Music I listen to before falling asleep:

      Some orchestral stuff:

Some soundtracks, such as the inception sound track are quite amazing.

      Random ones:

Calm electronic or trip hop can be nice as well, but I can't find a good example right now :/

Music I listen to while asleep / falling asleep

I like listening to binaural beats with background music, such as these:

If you search youtube for "sleep music" or "meditative music" you'll get quite a few interesting results as well:

There's quite a few more, but I sort of lost my playlist recently and I can't remember the track names.
      Pandabear and StaySharp like this.
      Dreams are simple.
It's the painfully simple things the human mind cannot comprehend.
After all your mind is trained to understand the complexity of the waking world,
not the simplicity of the dream world.

There's some interesting stuff there but shimmering gossamer seems to be my favourite out of your selection. I don't sleep with headphones often but I think I soon should give it another try with that track.

Also now that I think about it:

I do that sometimes as well. But usually as a means of keeping other noises out of my senses when sleeping without music. Or obviously when it's to hot again.

I don't remember if I've been active on this forum before. No results showed up for my user name, so I'll post these:

In 1968, I was talking with Paul McCartney in a dream. He stopped and said, "Listen !!!...." and the song "Lady Madonna" started
from the beginning. I immediately woke up to the unbroken stream of that song playing on the room radio.
      ---------------
Several times I have fallen asleep with Rush Limbaush on the radio. Have had several dreams containing visits with him, once in his house.
      ---------------
The latest seems to have potential: I am a very slug-a-bed kind of guy. I have gotten used to being able to sleep through the annoying
"AAA-AAA-AAA..." of my cheap clock radio.. Half the time now, my dream consists of me hearing this sound and not being able to
find the source. I get frantic, tearing apart every available electronic device, down to speakers and wires, to no avail. When no other devices
are available to destroy, I start to panic. Then I wake up and realize the alarm is on.

I listen to the traffic outside
Not anymore though; I now sleep with earplugs.

Not sure of this counts but I sleep listening to this white noise machine I have...I like the crickets and the rain settings.

The only music I've ever been able to sleep to was Kiss by a Rose by Seal. I actually managed to WILD to it.

Hehe, that reminds me, when I was a kid my parents would play a tape of Stormy Weekend. The music always makes me feel so nostalgic and reminds me of my childhood dreams...

Honestly, I have no idea how you can listen to inception music while you attempt to fall asleep. Of course, its cool but for sleeping, it just makes me paranoid, anxious and jittery.

Anyway, Brian Eno who has worked with Coldplay in the past, is amazingly talented and has created some great ambient music.

Brian Eno seems to have some really interesting stuff, but the first track seems strangely familiar to me, don't know where I could've heard it though.
I think I should listen to some more of his stuff.

I usually listen to a God is an Astronaut playlist specifically because of Infinite Horizons.

The Verve also has good stuff:

      Infinite Horizons indeed sounds good.

One more track I recall I liked to sleep to, which I will do again in a few minutes:

Also the track Forsaken, from Alexei Zakharov. I don't find any youtube link though.

Since I got some new tracks for sleeping it's about time to dig this out for a bit.

Nevermind the cover, this track is actually really calm, even depressive and dark. And with that one of the tracks I really like to sleep to.

Also one of those tracks is Forsaken, from Alexei Zakharov, from the X-Games, just like The Hub in my first post. However it is nearly impossible to find any video for this one.

Now that I'm digging this thread out, anyone care to share some more of their tracks?
