      Taste destroying my lucid?

So, I'm having fun in a lucid dream experimenting with my magic powers. I've shot flames out of my hand, and I've shot ice out of my hand. I'm thinking, and I realize that, if fire and ice, why not lightning?

So, I go out to an area where I know there's training dummies (Passive control FTW) for this kind of stuff. I summon a training dummy, careful to not try to exert too much active control over my lucid, as that generally causes my lucidity to go south quickly.

So, I shoot the training dummy with lightning. Since it's, you know, just a boring dummy, it shakes around a bit, doesn't really do much. I'm like "Fuck this shit. I need a real person to experiment on."

I look to another square on the training grounds (I'd explain the training grounds further, but I'd just end up rambling. Basically, little squares where you can summon a training dummy on each one.) and tell it to summon a real person. Nothing happens. Fine, fine, I say to my dream. A real DREAM person. We don't want to electrify a REAL person, now do we?

What comes up? A wedge of fucking cheese.

I'm kinda mad, since I didn't get to test out my lightning power to it's full potential, but fuck it, there's some cheese. I walk over and pick up the wedge of cheese. I bite into it, and instantly notice the pungent taste. It's not cheese that's gone bad, it's just REALLY fucking pungent cheese. As I'm walking away, I notice my lucidity disappearing rapidly as I'm focusing on the taste of the cheese. As I'm about to wake up, I realize "Damnit! The cheese made me lose my lucidity!"

So, I'm just curious as to your experience with taste in lucids, and as to whether or not strong tastes can make you lose your lucidity for some reason.

I've never ate yet in a dream, but next time, I'll try it myself. I don't think strong taste make you lose lucidity, I hear people eat stuff all the time in lucid dreams. It's different for everyone.

I haven't lost lucidity from eating foods, which I tend to do once in a while. I'm guessing it's because you became so focused on the cheese (lol) that you forgot you were dreaming. I don't think it was the cheese itself.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

That is really bizarre. I wonder what sort of weird connection your brain has between rotten cheese and human test subjects. Where does this shit come from?!

I tried taste in lucid dreams, things generally taste like old carpet. However, an experience does not hinder the ability to experience--it is one's reaction to the experience.

For me tasting something will just increase the vividness of dreams. Same with all the other senses.
I accept that my reality is always a dream so if something changes I know I'm right.

      Curse word count = 6.

Haha, that was off topic. But I haven't tried to eat in a dream. It has never been necessary to me.

Once you do eat something in a dream, it'll become necessary.
Unless you eat a hot dog that tastes like a turd, in that case it may turn you off.

Never had taste make me lose my lucidity, but I can tell you that taste can sure turn out shitty in dreams. I tried eating a plastic bag and a piece of basket or something in dreams, tasted like cough syrup, lmao.
