As much as you remember, perform RCs along with increasing your general awareness and really asking yourself if you're dreaming. The kinds of RCs that are most successful in terms of actually working are the finger-count and nose-plug RC. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Constantly perform reality checks every second of every day of every week of every month of every year... if you can. |

"Dreams are real while they last. Can we say more of life?" - Havelock Ellis
I'd recommend against doing a bunch of RCs without stopping and really considering if you could be dreaming or not. Without the increases in awareness and observation every time you do an RC, you can end up doing them in your dreams without noticing, and you might not become lucid. |

Just do them every time you think about it. But remember to not just do the reality check. Actually think of whether or not you are dreaming. I perfer the nose plug RC. |

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride
thank you the nose plug is one of the rc's i usually do along with trying to put my hands through objects. also i agree that doing to many reality checks can eventually lead to not noticing them in dreams. |

If your dreams take place in locations which you frequently visit for instance your neighborhood, your house, a friends house, your car, etc. whichever the case may be. These would be the places in which I would perform your reality checks it helps quite a bit when your in a dream. For example from continuously doing reality checks in say your house while you are dreaming you are in your house and perform a reality check gaining you lucidity. |

also another question how long does it typically take till one starts to reality check in their dreams? |
|
I reality check whenever something strange or "dream like" happens. This keeps me on the lookout for dream signs. |

One often becomes lucid and then does an RC to confirm their suspicions that they are dreaming. So they don't necessarily "cross over" into your dreams. Myself, I often become aware of what's around me and then I remember to do a reality check. |

I was gonna say the nose plugging one is the one i SWEAR by now, its the only one thats worked 99%. its only failed once, I must have been really deep to think it was normal to breathe with my nose plugged. |
