Dreams are simple.
It's the painfully simple things the human mind cannot comprehend.
After all your mind is trained to understand the complexity of the waking world,
not the simplicity of the dream world.

I'm not sure there is a finnish verb for lucid dreaming because finnish don't work like that so easily, but the one I've heard people use for the noun "a lucid dream" is "selkouni". |

Thanks guys! |

Arabian : alholm almotahakam ! |

Jujutsu is the gentle art. It's the art where a small man is going to prove to you, no matter how strong you are, no matter how mad you get, that you're going to have to accept defeat. That's what jujutsu is.
French: Lucide rêver |
|
Norwegian: "Bevisst drømming" Which directly translates to "conscious dreaming" |
|
Well, I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it's 'Lucide dromen' in Dutch. I just use the english term for it 'Lucide' means 'lucid' and 'dromen' means 'dreaming' (it can also be the plural of 'dream'). |

'Lucidno sanjanje' in Serbian. |

In China I do not know of anybody (other than my friends) who actually knows about lucid dreaming. Yeah, in the dictionary it is that word, but in Chinese it sounds very funny, awkward, and paradoxical. If translated back it means "awake dream". |

I can confirm Spanish is Sueno Lucido (with appropriate accent marks etc). Source: I'VE TAKEN 2 YEARS OF SPANISH I KNOW IT ALL! |

"Rêve lucide" is right for french! i don't know how else I would say it. |

L'inexprimable est souvent le meilleur de nous-même.
Might want to add to the end of the finnish term something to state that it's a noun, and not a verb. |

Very cool info here! |

Any questions about lucid dreaming? Drop me a PM here!
清醒梦 looks like some kind of google translation. the more accurate term is 清明梦. (ching ming mung) |

stuck alone inside your head, better off dead
清明 (qing ming/ching ming) is a holiday where it is popular to, you know, go to tombs and do some rituals. So your term sounds very ridiculous. Maybe qing ming doesn't exist in Taiwan, where you presumably live based on your profile? |

I can't believe there is no fixed term for lucid dreaming in Chinese...how can it not be? For now there already should be some communities interested in the subject, some websites, probably books translated...Even if nobody knew about LDing before (which I highly doubt - lucid dreaming did not just originated somewhere in the west and then carried over everywhere, there are so many mentions about it in different cultures) - for now someone should have already came up with the term. (Btw, I'm not trying to be rude or ignorant, just interested in the matter ) |

I'm no anti-patriot, but Chinese people do not have any knowledge of lucid dreaming. I've went into the biggest library in China (which is quite near my home!) and couldn't find any reference to lucid dreaming in both the neuroscience and the philosophy sections. |

I like this thread, but now i feel bad that the majority of the chinese don't know about lucid dreaming (compared to other countries, of course). Hopefully one day it will be at least a term which most people know what it means. |
