To learn to Lucid you must be like obsessive and think about it 24/7?

One of the techniques as you know, is to look at your hands during the day. or ask yourself "am i dreaming?" and repeately do checks during the day.
that's kind of like you hav eto do lucid practice 24 /7.

I mean i'm ok with it and i love lucid reams even though i've yet to have one but i love practicing etc. It's like meditation, it helps the mind.

But imean, is this something that once you get into, you have to commit in order to achieve it? 24/7 thinking about it.

Nah, I don't think about it all day.

I don't think you have to, to lucid dream.

While I'm sure that the more you think about it, the more you'll LD, I do think there is some kind of limit to that. Nowadays I've been rather busy, and I've barely been thinking about LDing in general, but I've still had one in the past week.

You don't need to think about lucid dreaming 24/7 to have lucid dreams. The more you think about lucid dreaming the higher your lucid dreaming frequency will be but it's not a requirement.

Actually if I think about lucid dreaming too much then I won't have one.

That's the way to get stressed out if something doesn't go the way you expect with your lucids.

I forget the number but i think it's about 10% of your daily life carries into your dreams, so I dont think that thinking about lucid dreams would have a negative impact on your success.

Not necessarily, but guides like this one take advantages of awareness in order to DILD. It says all day awareness, but it really isn't. The gist of the guide is that you become aware of you surroundings for a few minutes every 1/2 hours throughout the course of the day, until you start becoming aware on your own.

Awareness is the key, regardless of how often you do it. You don't have to repeatedly do checks or constantly think about dreaming during the day, and you don't even need reality checks to become lucid; they're more useful as a confirmation that you're dreaming. My guide also focuses on awareness and reasoning.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

To lucid dream you don't have to do it 24/7.

To get to the point where lucid dreaming is 'natural' or comes very easily / by itself, you do. And you can.

Like these fine people just said.

      ...

When I was deeper into Lucid Dreaming, I never found myself making lucidity checks during waking, or anything of the sort.

I clearly knew when I was dreaming, and when I was awake.

Obviously, I wouldn't be able to randomly fly about and do crazy acrobatics in waking life. I'm pretty fit, but not THAT fit!
