      Funny or strange reality checks

      Hey,
I have two simular and strange reality checks I keep on doing. I think they are a litte strange/f**ked up:
I either press my jaws together until my teeth break or I press my thumb against a tooth until it breaks.
This is my strangest ones. I dont know why but I only try this when Im dreaming, like I already know that I am dreaming. Never even tryed it while awake. All my other RCs, like looking at text twice and so on I do all the time IRL.

      What do you think?
Anyone else got some funny or strange ways to check if you are dreaming?

Never heard of those! I don't do any interesting RCs myself, I just stick with the nose-plug one.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

It started with me doing this automatically and uncontrolled in some of my first false awakenings about 10 years ago. I learned to stop it and then I started to use it in more controlled form, for some reason, its feels really strange doing it.
I only do it when nothing else is around

Recently I've been starting to realise im dreaming without reality checks, i just...realise. it's wierd, a lot to do with self hypnosis mp3s i think, but ive started doing things like charging chi to create energy as a reality check, or simply going for a fly you know.

The last one was my strangest, i was about to have dream sex but i was losing focus of the dream so instead of rubbing my palms together i was rubbing the naked body of this DC......very strange indeed...

I do my RCs when no one else is around, too. I think most of us on DV are like that.

lucydity; that's the case with just about all of my lucids! I've only become lucid from a dream sign/DC/RC once. In that dream, I saw my dad fixing a closet and wondered why he was doing it, since it wasn't broken the last time I checked. He then said, "well, it's broken because you're dreaming!" I think I was already somewhat aware before that, though.

The best RC to do is the one where you hold your nose and see if you can breath through it, if you do that in public quickly looks like you're just wiping your nose or itching it or something, rather than you stood in a crowd of people poking the palm of your hand....

      lol. Those are great!

Hmm. I've only done my "worst" RCs twice. They are really AWFUL ways to RC, but I wasn't exactly aware in the dreams, so I did them anyway. The "RC" is to jump off of a high place and if you are okay when you land, you're dreaming.

DO NOT DO THIS AS AN ACTUAL RC xD

I honestly hope no one needed that warning. Hahaha.

Like I said in both dreams, I only did them cuz I was not really aware and it just sort of happened. The first time, I ended up realizing I was dreaming and I accidentally woke myself up. The second time, I ended up concluding I was a vampire and thus, proceeded to running around acting like a vamp, trying to bite into people's necks, turning into an actual bat and that kind of stuff. ^_^

One time when I just got lucid my first thought was for some reason to head-bang a wall as hard as I possibly could (as a form of reality check). I guess it works, because if I am still conscious after several hits I am definitely dreaming. It hurt a lot, and made me so disoriented that I almost threw up (in the dream).

I recommend against slamming your head deliberately into hard objects either in dreams or waking life.

This is exactly what I did in my first lucid dream. As soon as I realised I was dreaming I started to jump head-first into a wall again and again until I woke up. I still don't know why I did that.

A little while ago, when I had just learned about lucid dreaming, I had another lucid dream for the first time in many years. I wanted to make sure I was really dreaming, so I decided to try to do the only thing you can do when you're sleeping: waking up.
That has got to be the most stupid way I wasted a lucid dream.

Damn, that sounds horrifying. I use that as a dream sign, but I hate it when that happens. Even if I do get lucid, it's almost not worth it.
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

My teeth seem to grow back or something, I dont think about it afterwards in the dream. They just break, does not hurt or anything.

For me, they break before I'm questioning if it's a dream or not, so I think it's real. It's a pretty horrifying thought that half your teeth are gone and that stuff in your mouth is broken teeth. But I guess as an RC it would be less freaky.

I've heard of ones where you stick your thumb through your hand and it feels like tough jello. Odd, though

I do it with my index finger. It's my favorite, you can do it anywhere and it's pretty reliable. Doesn't really feel like jello for me, more like impossibly thick air.

A classic dreamsign for me is loosing my teeth, so I used to poke my tounge against some teeth and see if they would fall out.

Otherwise, my fav is telekinesis =P
