A lucid dream without Lucidity? wtf

So, last night I had a very strange dream. It did not have the clarity I normally have in lucids, and here's the weird part: I thought I was lucid when, looking back, I don't think I was.

I was owning in that dream: having bossfights with Agent Smith, kung-fuing random DC's, having a chat with a person I wanted to check out in a dream, flying, albeit very strangely. I thought I was completely lucid, but the coming of this so-called lucidity didn't come as a surprise nor as something that would make me feel enthusiastic. I just went 'meh' on it kind of thing, and when I woke up, I could hardly remember what the dream was about, although always when I have lucids I can clearly recall all of them.

So... I was wondering if you guys could shed some light on this experience and on how to avoid it in the future.
      Thanks in advance

That can happen when you consciously know you're dreaming but you don't understand the meaning of that for this moment. I had this experience myself again, where inside of the dream I sorta knew I was dreaming but I didn't care because I didn't understand.
Avoiding it always might be hard, but you should be able to do it generally when lucidity excites you enough to always snap into full lucidity upon realizing the dream.

So basically I should hype myself up more for LD's? To tell the truth, I have been finding that difficult lately and I don't know why. It's not that I don't want to LD, I do, but something is just like sapping the enthusiasm from me

I think you are just getting used to becoming lucid in a dream and the initial excitement you always got is gone now, this both a blessing and a curse cuz on the one side you won't wake up because of over excitedness but on the other LD'ing seems to have lost its "lustre", I say this because a similar thing happened to me because when i became lucid i would never have much control. Learn to stabilize and also make some goals to keep you motivated..

      Thanks!
Today I got another one of these strange lucids. I can't put its events into chronological order, but that maybe just because my dream recall is rusty. It was very vivid, I remembered to stabilize it and ask for my dream guide. Let's just say I didn't notice my DG, perhaps they were there, idk.
But I am pleased with this LD, because it allowed me to do some stuff I've been wanting to do.
Thanks lawilahd, I'll be sure to do that shouldn't be too hard to come up with some goals should it? On this forum we have a topic with over 6000 things you can do in a lucid dream I believe
