Aren't you already a god in your dream?
And if any of you are talking about omnipresence and omniscience and that sorta stuffs, I managed to get one in an ND, so I think you can be a god just fine in LD.

I picked Yes, I would like to become a god.

I mean, just because you're all powerful, doesn't mean you'll always have the fact in the back of your head that things will be boring. Sometimes being a god, at least in my opinion that I don't want to go into a "tl;dr" mode, it's about being able to know how it feels to feel incompetent, and being humble with the potential you have within your dreams.

I think when people worry about being bored with the all-powerful mentality that's been encroaching in the minds of others to jump on that same mentality is the fact that they aren't setting themselves up for situations where they can easily avoid/succeed, but they do not take the advantage of creating a situation where some entity has the same power as you, the same potential as you, and it's up to YOU to figure out how to defeat them.

      Like this for instance....

You need to get to another planet in your dreams, and you're racing against someone. They have the same potential to get there just as fast as you, but they don't have a catalyst that triggers how they can get it done quickly and efficiently, and yet still enjoy the experience of getting there at the same time.

One person can just using a warping ability by using some part of their body/item/or intention in their mind that they reach to a destination, compared to the other person using a vehicle that could go at the speed of light or something like that.

People are afraid because of "omniscience" and/or being "omnipresent", and they formulate that knowing all of this would ruin the fun, when in fact, they will NEVER be those things unless they just let it all go naturally (knowing the path and walking the path...oops did I do a bad summary of the Matrix???? ). Being able to regress to certain experiences that requires you to use your head in waking life transferred to your dream head instead of relying that what you say goes, conforming to the laws of certain universes, a "god" can easily enjoy those things without thinking they have to be a traveler that has certain powers that would make them seem absolute, but with limitations (like people have said before). (I'm trying my best to not go into a wild tangent on religious meanings of gods).

But people already stated opinions of what I said in shorter forms, but I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinions, so no harm in me reiterating what they said. ^.^

Nomad, there's no option in your poll for people who have already attained divine status.

      What gives?

      Umm...
      What?
Our brains created the dream, if we cannot do anything, it's because part of us are stopping us.
So we are like a god with many minds.

In my case, the dreamer is the God. So I am already a God in my dreams.

Still don't see the fun on being god, you can make stuff effortesly, that way its... boring and doesn't feels rewarding at all. I started enjoying dreams way more the moment the rules were created and I was just a weakling.

Well the rule of being a God is that you can do anything. So you can create rules as well.

I wouldn't want to be a god because I don't like leading or controlling. Nor do I like being controlled. I would like "god like" powers, I guess, but I really only want to do things for me if I start having in depth lucids.

Yeah, so you can easily give up that godly status if desired. No paradox =D

No. It's like using cheat codes in games to beat it instantly. It's fun for a while, but then it gets rather boring when you have nothing challenging you. Besides, I use lucid dreams as not only a chance to have fun and do things I couldn't normally do, but to grow and learn from part of myself I didn't even know. If you're god then you never lose, and if you never lose then you can never grow and learn. The best way to learn is to do something with someone who's better than you.

Several weeks ago I lost my first major fight in a lucid dream. I enjoyed it. I learned a lot from it and now feel like if I encounter this dream character again that I can fight toe to toe with him and grow even more.

Seriously, why the whole thread goes around the idea of "god pwns everyone with super beams"? If god exists (ed ), can't people perceive it as a creator? If you were a god (in that christian sense of the word), wouldn't you be more concerned about:

      - Creating life;
      - Define existencial morals in your newly created life
      - Create universe

Any person can end up in a fight. And especially a lucid dreamer can end up in kickass fights. Why you would want to do that as a god I don't get it 0o

Hm, didn't you read the making planets, bending reality so everyone will be happy and that kind of stuff part? Creating life without effort? Boring, morals that you can bypass with logic-bend? Boring, Create universe without effort? Boring.

Not like I am talking for everyone, but still boring imo.

If you do not want to be god. That probably means you enjoy being at the mercy of the world around you and having no control. Many people just want someone else to tell them what to do.
Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake

I like the idea of demi god more for fighting etc. But being God is basically what you are unless you limit yourself. Stuff like omnipresence is kinda hard though.
