Yes, I would enjoy that.
Yes, but I do not believe I can.
No, that would be blasphemous.
No, I find that uninteresting.
No, I feel that would be bad for my psyche.

Well, I guess it depends on your definition of a god. If by god you mean a supernatural something that controls all, then it would be impossible ofcourse. But there are sooo many definitions of 'god', that I would love to get 1 dollar for each one. I personally don't believe in the existance of anything/anyone like that, so I suppose I would say it's impossible. |
|
Lol, I only just noticed that this is about LD Ofcourse it would be obvious seeing what forum we're on, but I failed to understand it. I think my definition would be an all-powerful being that controls all. I don't believe in the excistence of something like that, but being all-powerful can certainly be acquired in dreams. Ofcourse, it is acquired the second you get good dream control |

I think he means simply having absolute control, super powers, be able to create worlds and fly through space. |
|
This depends for me, if I were an all powerful being I could do some cool things in the dream, such as creating my own universe and exploring it on a cosmic level, but also nothing would be a challenge so it would depend. If it were something more like a polytheistic god (norse, greek/roman, tribal gods) then I think it would be more interesting, I would be powerful but have limitations, maybe in absolute control of certian things but not others, or have god strength and speed, something like that. |

Lucid Dreaming since 3/30/10
I would. I already know what it's like to not be a god in waking life, so I might as well learn the opposite through dreams. |
|
I wouldn't. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

My thoughts on gods: |

I am all I am nothing. I am the door opener and the door closer.
You are dreaming....
I voted no (other). Not because of any particular spiritual belief, nor on psychological grounds. Total omniscience and omnipotence would distance me as a participant in my own dreaming. Catching an occasional glimpse of Godly power while dreaming is awesome, but I'd rather see my role in a dream as some Greek hero or demi-God. |

I don't think there are more definitions of a god. |

This has been done before. |

Like Puffin mentioned, it's no fun being all-powerful. What's the point in being able to do everything? As good as having every super power is, it's unlikely you'd use them all at once. To me, it's a lot more fun using what powers feels 'right' in the dream, whether it be because it'd look awesome or it's the first thing that comes to mind. I mean, if you were to fight some badass looking things and then just using the Dragon Ball Z 'kamehameha,' destroying it in one blast, what fun is that? |

There is a difference between being able to do something and actually doing something. When fighting someone, you're capable of destroying him in one blast, but it's not fun, so you don't do it and spar for a while. However, you ARE capable of doing it, so you ARE all-powerful |

Because as a god, you wouldn't have just the infinite power to "destroy" and "command" and bend people to your will...you would also have (apparently since I don't actually see the concept of God as that all mighty entity) infinite power to create. |

Omniscience, Omnipotence and Omnipresence? I would like to have these abilities. |

Hmm, interesting question. I voted that yes, I would enjoy that. I'm open to pretty much anything, so I figure trying it couldn't hurt. It would be cool to maybe create another universe/planet, or something along those lines. :3 Granted, I haven't experienced lucid dreaming yet. So, I don't know. Others have a point... maybe being all-powerful would be boring. But I would like to try it, nonetheless. |
|
Meh being godly is boring. Takes the fun out of everything for me, so canceled those powers. |
|
I believe that when we are lucid dreaming, we are automatically the god of our dream. Why? because we are the most powerfull being in the dream, can control everything if we concentrate, an we are the creators of the world. Like the software that designed the entire place. So here is what I say: we are a mini-god, that creates a room, or a beach or whatever. The real god is just like that but on a bigger scale. He can imagine not just a room or a few persons, but the whole multiverse. |
