      Finding yourself in your room

I guess the thread title is not so obvious, so i'll explain

In this thread we should be talking about the experiences in that while entering an LD you find yourself in your room, being in the same position like in real life... so in these cases it might be hard to tell once you are in the dream already.

I just thought about creating this thread after today's DEILD attempt:
I woke up from a dream and i was still in Sleep Paralysis, which is usual for me, so i took the opportunity and instantly started a DEILD... I kept focusing and making the SP's tingling more powerful. I usually know that i'm in a dream once the tingling gets weaker and that loud SP noise gets quiet or stops...
So once that happened i opened my eyes.... i've seen my room, but everything was dark red... I thought that i must be still awake and my eyes didn't open fully and that's why i see my room a little differently.
I closed my eyes and started concentrating again, but when i opened them i wasn't in SP anymore, i woke up normally...

I immediately realized that when my room was dark red, that was the dream already.... it just confused me... ugh.

So, share stories when something like this happened to you
Also, how do you tell if it's a dream in this case?

I recently was doing the SSILD technique and felt my body being weird, so I stopped the technique and got out of bed. I did a reality check and it turned out I was dreaming. It's like there was some seamless entry into the dream, it was crazy.

That's exactly what i experience sometimes... especially when i'm in SP. Sometimes i don't even see a flash or anything, i'm just in the dream already... and it's really hard to tell during those times... Of course RC can help, but i mostly try to stay still, since if i'm not dreaming i would ruin the attempt with moving

Well this is what I have to share. From my DJ:

I wake up at seven. I did stuff till eight. I get back into bed and try an OBE. Eventually I become deeply relaxed and there is tons of hypnagogic imagery. It starts distant and unclear but it gets very vivid as time goes by. Then, my mind just explodes with hypnogonia. Visuals everywhere! I hear tons of voices. Then I see flashes of my room as if I can see through my eyelids. Then I see my laptop in front of me, and only that. By this time the voices are at their peak. They were completely understandable. I can hear word for word. Only there were so many voices I couldn't listen to them all. Then voices of two people I know started talking to me. They started calling out my name over and over. I get the feeling that their frustrated at me for not replying. At some point I also heard a huge BOOM/BANG! I think, Ahmed has gotten these bang sounds before! After that VIBRATIONS, never ending vibrations. I get two small waves like when I had my first OBE. I have that thought while its happening. But then a third wave comes and it does not end. It keeps going and going. Im thinking, When is this gonna end? All of a sudden I'm in sleep paralysis. I try to separate, but I fail. Then I open my eyes. I see my room and I am lost for words. The first thing I noticed was the color. I won't try to describe the colors. The next thing I noticed was how the door wasn't where it is normally. But then I saw another door where it always was. There were two. There was a huge window across from my bed. It was like a replication of my room on some alien star ship. Everything was sooooo different yet the same. It spooked me a bit, the way it looked; it was dark and alien-ly sinister. Then I thought, shadow beings? There were none. Then I started to get dragged from my bed. I thought, whatever, just go with the flow. I was then pulled into the space between my bed and my bedside table/drawer thing. I felt my body curl up into the space. I then close my eyes. I try to separate but fail. I open my eyes again I see the same room and everything that happened before happens again. Only this time I am pulled into the wall closest to me. All I see is a strange green-grey. I am unable to move or separate. Seeing no progress will be made now, I want to wake up. This way I'll at least be able to remember all this clearly and write it down, or as I am now, typing it. I try so hard to move. I cant, no matter how hard I try. I think back to what Nicholas Newport said. I try breathing fast and hard. It works; I wake up. I sit in bed and start to think about everything that just happened. I suddenly realize that all of this was not a failed OBE. In fact, I had achieved a WILD without realizing it. I was aware the whole time but I thought I was going through a failing OBE. I failed to tell the difference between an OBE and a lucid dream. It was all a dream starting from the vibrations. I was aware make no mistake, but I had treated everything as if I was on the path to an OBE. I get out of bed wondering how much time has passed. I change my shirt because the one I was wearing smelled.( In waking life it really did smell) I take a moment to decide which shirt I will wear. Whether it'll be the one that I had over my eyes or something else. I then walk out of the room. On my way I look out the window and notice it's dark. This confuses me. I wonder, How long have I been here? I walk into the living room and see my mom and my sister on the couch. Nothing new here. I exchange a few words with my mom but didn’t pay attention to what she was saying. My focus was on the leather coffee table next to us. There was something moving inside of it. I go, Oh! That’s where the mice are living. I hope my mom doesn’t notice. She does and I wake up. For real this time. I think back and realize I had experienced a false awakening. But the conclusions I made in my false awakening about the WILD and how I treated it like an OBE remained true.

About 5 days ago, I had one of my first false awakenings, definitely the best and most interesting. This month, I have really been into a lot of different methods of lucid dreaming, and I'm not really set on a single method. So anyways, I woke up around 5, after 5, 6, or seven hours of sleep, I can't remember, this was not planned and I did not have an alarm set for this night (when it is set, its usually at 4:30)

I woke up and briefly contemplated the idea of doing a WILD this morning, I decided that I was too tired, and the last few nights did not yield results from the method I was using. I went to the bathroom to pee, (probably what woke me up, a UILD?) and then laid down. I became sleepy again and began to have abstract thoughts, I started to hear myself snore and woke myself up every couple of minutes. I rolled over on my side and went into SP, (which is weird, I never went into SP on my side before) I rolled back and went into normal sleep. I woke up again, this is like the 4th time, and my light was on. 1. I was pissed that my light was on. 2. I was pretty pissed that I kept waking up. I went to turn it off, and I was incredibly dizzy, I felt really high, kind of like a strong opiate high. I stumbled and stood up, I went to turn my light off, but my light switch wasn't working... At this point I realize this is a false awakening and my heart is racing. I look at my bed and I see myself laying there. I became extremely startled and woke myself back up, and then went into normal sleep.

So yeah, definitely interesting, kind of like an OBE, but I have had OBE's before, and its definitely not the same, pretty fun though. Has this ever happened to anybody? Like, has anyone else ever woken up with a drug-like rush? Maybe its normal, first time its happened to me though.

Yeah, it's really strange to me. I find it similar to an OBE and A lucid dream/FA mixed together. (people will argue they are the same thing, but I disagree) It kind of feels like I started to lucid dream then went into SP, the vibrations lightheadedness were similar to the first few seconds of SP for me. I would like to explore these kinds of FAs or OBEs more, because they are sorta pleasant.

I actually googles UILD after I posted my reply because I think I have read it somewhere before, anyways, apparently some people actually use it. It makes sense because it actually makes you get up, I can't go to sleep if I have a full bladder. We all know its tempting to hit the snooze button, or off button on your alarm... Although this also seems a little hard to time your awakening.

I didn't exactly meant false awakenings here, but when you enter the dream from a WILD/DEILD and you find yourself in your room and it's hard to tell that it's a dream already... but interesting stories nonetheless ^^

This always happens to me when I attempt a DEILD.. I never have to tell myself it's a dream though or rather I'm never fooled by the dream.. It just feels different! Also most times when I do a DEILD it's after I try the WBTB method and after I enter my dream and wake up in my room I usually turn around and see myself still laying on the bed.. I would say you just have to pay attention to things around you.. and pay attention to your body.. I always notice when I'm in a dream also because I don't feel tired any more.. That's a dead give away, a few seconds ago I was tired and trying to fall asleep now I'm completely awake and, oh wow look the sun is up but when I was laying down a few seconds ago it was dark.. << thing like that.. Good luck! I just want to know how to lucid dream every night.. That's the only goal I'm seeking to accomplish

This happened yesterday to me. I spent a long time trying to fall asleep. At some point I managed to get relaxed and I felt vibrations after I laid still for a long time. But I didnt want a WILD, or atleast I wasnt going for one. So I moved my body a bunch to get out of it. I kept trying to fall asleep and I couldnt. Eventually I gave up, turned to my lamp, and tried to turn it on. It wouldn't work. I did a breathing RC and found that I was in a dream. I also looked at my phone for fun. The screen displayed a bunch of random nonsense.
