      Cartoony/anime imagination ... problem?

I tend to have a rather cartoony, mostly anime-style imagination ...
and I think that might be slowing down my lucid dreaming

      Example:
When I try to prepare a dream scene or think out dream characters they/it always look(s) like an anime scene. And I'm not sure whether thats actually a valid dream scene, if dreaming is only possible in RL-style then my anime-style attempts might be useless ...

I don't think it should be too much of a problem. I had a cartoon-style dream once... (well, I've probably had more, but I can only remember one off the top of my head)

Lucid dreaming isn't effected by a anime/cartoon scene, as far as i can tell.

All successful people men and women are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.

I dunno about cartoony/anime graphics. But I've had a few dreams where I'll be in a video game I know, and the graphics of the game will look just like the quality of the dream :p Its like being inside the video game haha its cool

I don't really see the problem here O.o . The only thing it may result is anime/cartoon style dreams which should be quite awesome ^^ .

I know what you mean. It's that you try to imagine realistic scenes, but this cartoon-like scene pops up instead? I get that too, it helps to really stare at things in waking life, taking notice to all the small details.

Whenever I've had/ remember having a cartoon-like dream I usually only remembered a few details. I believe that if you improve your dream recall and your dream vividness, (the two are closely related) your dreams will become less cartoon-like.

Unless the reason for your cartoonish dreams is because you read and watch cartoons a lot. In that case try to go awhile without any cartoons, comics, manga, anime, and videogames. Focus on spending time with friends and family or outside with nature that might help your brain stray away from the cartoon visuals.

      Heya,

Do not worry about something being unrealistic, it will not effect your rate of lucid dreams at all. Your subconscious doesn't care what your dream visually look like, whether it's what we call real life, Anime, Manga, Lego or Clay. It's actually believed by some that this reality only looks the way it does because the collective consciousness of man perceives it that way, and there is truth in that. Our physical senses (smelling, seeing, hearing, tasting and feeling) define our reality, and if we were to change anything it would have to be within ourselves.

There is no invalidity in imagining anything out of what you consider the norm, your subconscious just wants you to be relaxed and meditative during your experience. Your physical technique would not change, I personally appreciate the beauty of Anime as an art form and introducing it into my visualizations is easy, and that's how you should consider it for yourself. Anything holding your technique back are your own beliefs; there aren't any boundaries when you're visualizing creatively, regarding you have enough self-control not to think of anything that upsets you will or will put you off.

I've had a dream where everything was Anime, I can't remember anything about it but I remember everything feeling like it did in waking life and everyone sounded like they did in the usual day-to-day; as opposed to how characters in English dubs usually sound in Anime (no offence Rozen Maiden).

I had quite a lot of these when I was little, but I've only had a few in the past year or so... I didn't really want them to be anime-ish, so i just focused more, and it went away...
      Oof.
