I'm convinced that dream recall is completely random...

This morning, I recalled 7 dreams from the night before; one of them, lucid. Two days prior to this night, my recall was below average.

I thought of differences in my daily routine, and the only moderately odd activity I took part in was taking a long swim in the neighborhood's community pool.

Does swimming (lowering the core body temperature mildly) actually increase dream recall? Or is remembering one's dreams an unpredictably erratic process? (what I've been experiencing.)

I think it's random, unless you take supplements or do weird dream recall techniques like swimming. Maybe the techniques are placebos, who knows? I just don't do anything special, the only thing I'd do is use autosuggestion.

I might start swimming more. They say regulating your core body temperature actually oxygenates the brain quite effectively. Hopefully something like this happens again tonight!

Experiment and you will find that recall is affected by all sorts of factors. They can include the foods you eat, drug intake, physical exercise, stress, and many other factors. Each person will have to explore this for them selves to find out what affects them. Here is a link that may be useful, http://www.dreamviews.com/f15/dream-...endium-132328/
