Don't bother with the REM it's true that you might need the REM to dream vivid, but I am almost convinced that that's not the case in order to maintain the dream. |

Hmm the way I understand it, you're saying that you get lucid right before you wake up? Perhaps that's because at the end of your REM cycle, you start to gain consciousness (hence you wake up a bit, probably roll over without noticing, then go back to sleep). Since you are slowly gaining consciousness and wakefulness, it could trigger you to get lucid, like your brain wakes up just before your body ends the cycle. Then you get lucid for a bit, then the cycle finally ends. That's just a theory though. x) |

Yes this is exactly what's happening lol almost except for the lucidity trigger. Whenever I'm flying in my dreams that's what normally makes me lucid. Coincidentally, it happens when I'm about to wake up fml. |

stephen Laberge actually mentioned this state in a documentary on lucid dreaming on the descovery channel. he said it's like a limbo state when the body starts to wake up, you gain consciousness near the time your dream starts to fade. it can go up to 10 to 15 seconds before it does though. theres know logic trigger when this happends, it just does. |

I get this a lot, too. It is frustrating. The good news is, it is good practice to recognize dreams. I think you are right to try a WBTB. You also might be able to just set an alarm for 30 minutes before you wake up. Wake up, switch it off, and go right back to sleep. Try both |
