I'm Stupid...

Ok so last night I was dreaming that I was lucid dreaming, It was as if I was lucid dreaming except the dream was just pretending that I was... I feel stupid because that's the easiest way to remember to attempt to lucid dream and I didn't notice...

Although... It is a good sign because it means that your mind is focusing on lucid dreaming and your not far from actually becoming lucid. If you think this is annoying then listen to this. I had a dream where I described lucid dreaming to my friend and even demonstrated how it felt, I freeze in front of him and said "This is how it feels with the realization that everything around you is a dream, but you have to be careful because the dream can trick you..".

Later on when I wake up I think to myself "I'm not only stupid, I am an idiot!

Good news - that WAS a lucid dream! Any dream where you realize you are dreaming is a lucid dream, even if you don't have control.

I don't really understand how this is different from a regular lucid dream. Did you know it was a dream? Was it in third person, or something?

It means that you dream "Oh I am lucid" but without actually being lucid I think it's called "simulated lucid dream". Your not aware of it being a dream, yet you dream you are lucid o. O

It was as if i was controlling the dream except i wasnt, the dream was just doing things that i would do if i was lucid dreaming as i was in third person with no control.

Ah I've had plenty of these as well. One time, I was talking to a dream character who was dead irl, and I was telling her that where we were standing was one of my dreamsigns, and that I wold get lucid soon. But I never got lucid. Lol

As what Iapetos said, don't worry about it. You are starting to get into the mindset for lucidity, so it shouldn't be long now.

Wow. The same thing just happened to me... uh... basically. I had a dream where there was this game board. and I remember seeing 2 of the squares saying "Lucid Dreaming"... I never realized I actually realized this of course... But I guess it means I'm getting closer to lucid dreaming regularly, so I'm happy

Oh man... I just had a dream where I wrote on this forum! I wrote something like "It's very important to be aware of one's dreams, and with my dream journal started I am actually more aware of my dreams now." Haha ooooooh the irony. I am actually going to make a reality check after this post...

No it was not a lucid dream, it was a layer zero MINOR where you dream ABOUT lucid dreaming but you don't ever realize that you were actually dreaming. Some people even have dreams where they are with a group of friends and they all go to sleep to dream and they start doing stuff they would if they actually were in a lucid dream but you think the stuff your doing with your friends was real. so that is not a lucid dream, it's a fake lucid dream. learn the difference between real lucidity and fake lucidity.

Once, I had a similar experience. I downloaded an application that made you lucid dream in a dream. Guess what? I never became lucid (but I did create vegetarian tigers).
