Is not having dream is sign of some problem or disease(not getting any dreams at all)

Hi its been years, i don't get any dreams at all.
dreams are very rare like once in a week or probably a month or two.
there was a time when i used to get them everyday.

      whats happening...?
i want to have dreams everyday..
i read on web that we just dont remember dreams... but we have them..
i just don't digest this concept....how can i be so unaware of this..i dont belive in this idea that i dont remember the dream.even if i don't remember the dream at least i should know that i had a dream..even if i don't remember it.
i mean suppose if a saw a person i met sometime ago..i would realize that we(i and him) have met before but just don't remember the details..

Is not having dream is sign of some problem or disease
what should i do do get a dream everyday.

I don't think it's a sign of a disease, since you are still getting them, just not as often as you used to. Which brings me to the point, that I think you are getting them as often as you used to, you just stopped remembering them.

There is a simple but very effective solution to this. Start a dream journal. Either paper or on your PC. Start writing every dream in detail. Even if all you remember is just one word or a feeling you got from a dream. If you don't remember anything, write "My memory is great and my recall is better every day".

Think about your dreams often. When you do so, be greatfull and express your wish and intent to have more of them and to remember them.

Try this mantra as you falling asleep "I remember my dreams", "I wake up after each dream and I remember it" (if you want to wake up several times at night and write down your dream). Mantras are very simple but very powerful. Here is little bit more about DJ and dream recall.

You have dreams every single night however you simply forget them, in the morning when you wake up within a few minutes you forget your dreams unless they were really intenser or you written them down, our minds erase dreams for some reason and they are not stored in the same memory as the waking life.
To remember dreams more often and in more detail what I would do is every night have a diary (or big enough paper) and a pen/pencil and when you wake up either at the time you normally get up or before/after you record your dreams in the diary or paper. When you wake up so not move or think about anything else except for what you dreamt last night (thinking about the days concerns will make it harder and maybe you could forget if you do that :3), even a single scene or a word will be worth it to write it down in the diary/paper. Slowly you will remember dreams more and you could possibly remember 4 a night if you try hard!.

I think that you have a good point with you need something to remember it by. If you read EWOLD then you will learn about schema, which are the things that dreams are made out of. I think that if you can remember what led to the dream you can remember your dreams. If you can go through the previous day in your mind you could stumble on it (I do this regularly). A mantra is a good tool, and normally waking up in the middle of the night will help you remember, so either an alarm early in the night or if you can wake yourself up without it, that would be key.

After years of not caring about dreams your mind gets really good at shoving the dreams out of the way. So think about what you did a year ago today. You normally will come up with nothing unless you had something you marked important in your mind. So I would read a few tutorials and go all out! Get fired up! Be confident that it will work! Another factor is getting a good amount of sleep. 8 hours is good for you.

I could be the most qualified person to answer your question!

5 weeks ago i didn't know what lucid dreaming was, and just like you i didn't remember the last time i had a dream and add to that the fact that you could shoot me in the face with a cannon without waking me up (i am a heeeeeeeeeavy sleeper).

After learning about lucids on the web i said to myself; "I will start a mission to disprove this nonsense".

So... I started up a journal and after a week i had written down 5 dreams in surprising detail and a week after that i became lucid by accident, and as much as it pains me to say it i was wrong in calling this phenomenon nonsense.

Furthermore to back up what Gab said in the first comment, mantras are a very powerful, yet incredibly simple tool to use when you want your brain to do something, i recently tried it for the first time, writing down a whole page of my journal with "I will wake up after my dreams and notice this process" followed by me repeating it to myself while falling asleep. The next day, i had woken up 7 times during the night and 4 times i wrote down a dream, all in one night.

Additionally, recently i began remembering 2-3 dreams a night without waking up to write them down. So i think this serves to prove that you can train your brain to remember dreams, even though you don't remember any of them as it is.

I hope this gives you motivation to start a dream journal, for as you can see, i went from blank to 4 dreams in one night in 2-3 weeks just by doing that and using some mantras.

      Happy dreaming.

Creating a dream journal is the best option for me. I couldn't agree more with the posts above me.

the only time I really struggled with remembering dreams (well it felt like I never had them really ever at all) ..was when I was into cannabis. so if you do it will help if you slow it down haha

"Not getting any dreams at all"

Dreams occur every night, you probably don't usually remember your dreams.

And I really doubt its any disease. Look up how to remember dreams. It may help you.

It's also recommended by some that even if you don't recall any dreams that night, write the days events at the end of the day, because it helps clear the mind and because paying attention to the days events seems to help you pay attention to the night's events.
