      Reading

Has anyone here had any success actually reading coherent text in a dream? My last attempt rendered real letters and digits but it seemed to function like a clock face for me--the instant I moved ahead with the reading and looked back things were different or the letters were jumbled. Also some of the sentences made no sense.

I'm not sure if it's possible to read anything meaningful or not but if I could find an actual coherent message written it would be interesting to see what my brain could possibly decide to unconsciously fill it in with haha.

Some people can rad, some can not. I have no problem reading, never tried to read second time if anything changed. But remembering till I wake up is a problem. Most of the time I remember only bits and pieces.

Yeah, that's part of it too. I find that while it's happening things like conversations will be completely fluid and normal but my memory of them is sometimes somewhat spotty...that could be the case with the reading too, but I really can't remember any of the words. Were you reading a book or something?

Once I read an ad in a newspaper with my full name nicely in fancy cursive. Last time I was flying just above the road and saw a sign on a building. I stopped to read it and had to laugh. It was some funny institution name. I have read a few other times, but can't recall what it was. Oh yeah, once I saw a sign saying Your employer. I was a military recruit and I guess I was working for that employer.

I read in a non-lucid dream the other night. I was at a mall looking at the clearance racks and one dress had a tag on it that stated the reason for someone returning it: "7 sizes too small!!"

I got a good laugh at it, and I believe I ended up buying the dress in the dream cause it had fit me lol.

I have only read once in a dream. This was actually two nights ago. I walked into one of my classes, and started reading a book. I read a lot IRL. But when I do, I'm not conscious of turning pages, or the words. I make a picture of what's going on. So when I started reading, I read a sentence, and it just shifted the dreamscene

I have trouble reading in dreams too. Also, just the other night I had a dream I was doing a game of wordsearch. Imagine that!! I couldn't find a single word because all the letters changed every second. Haha

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

The one dream where I could read was one of the strange ones. Two men sitting in a rowboat reading to each other. I got a glimpse of the page over one man's shoulder and all I could make out was:
      SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!!
      SPOON REVERBERATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

I have read in LDs and non LDs. I freaked out in the non LD because tons of parts of the Bible were missing and I was really confused.

I've never had any problems reading in dreams. I've actually read some pretty lengthy forum posts in dreams that were actually totally legible, coherent, and made sense (for the most part).

You spend too much time on dreamviews in your dreams?

I've had two experiences in successfully reading that I can recall, though they weren't in LDs.

The first, my science teacher was scoring some sort of an odd race thing. You stood in a certain place based on how well you preformed, but the system itself made no sense. However, in the commentary (which was written on some sort of a heavily pixelated television) the words "ahh... sorry" were clearly legible.

The second was right after a FA. In the previous LD, I was bragging to some DCs about how it was all a dream. One of them looked really surprised. In the upcoming FA, a friend of mine on a game I was playing said something along the lines of "who was the one who had an LD last night?". I tried to type "that would be me" which actually worked until halfway through when the computer screen lighting suddenly dimmed to next to nothing. I tried to keep typing by making out the words that I could still see, but then the screen went completely dark and the letters I typed became nonsensical. Then, I looked at the keyboard and discovered that it was completely devoid of English letters and instead had some sort of an odd Greek/Arabic alphabet mashup.

I can read fairly well, from when i've tried to read. Believe it or not, in the race dream we raced in a mashup of nature and a library. I found a scroll titled "Earthbound" which I really wanted to read as I am a huge Earthbound fan. Sadly, I reasoned that I would have time later after the race... damnit.

I can read a text, but only partially. When I try to reread the letters change their position. Same with the numbers.

I can read simple sentences, but the spelling is wrong and extra symboles. I can never-reread the sameli e or they change. A work around for this is just to glAnce at the page and know whAt it says without readi g tbe actual symbols
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.
