The Hallucinations Thread!

When i could not fall asleep during the nap yesterday, at one point i have had pretty vivid HH(with closed eyes) of stars and galaxies for a few seconds and i occasionally heard some weird beeping sounds which were definitely not from my headphones.

I usually hallucinate voices of friends or family members in the distance yelling my names, but recently when going back to bed after a dream I get this thing where the breathing coming out of my nose is amplified by 100 times and goes from a quiet whistling to the sound of jet engines (at least that's what it feels like). This usually wakes me up and it sometimes scares me how loud it can get just in my head without actually using my physical ears.

So, are your hallucinations like dreams in that they have a story line and play out similar to a dream? That's pretty cool never heard of it though. I suppose another word for it would be day dreaming

lol no i don't think so, they were visions that i kept dipping in and out of, maybe i was dipping in and out of a dream but i swear i wasn't so i'm sure it was partly hallucinated lol

When I was a kid about 7 or 8 years old I had a dream that started off like every normal dream doing random things, but about halfway through I end up in a forest where this sorcerer or witch lady sees me and casts a spell and burns something into my mind, and for about 10 minutes I had strong hallucinations of the image and the forest even while I was fully awake and walking around. This is probably the scariest event I've ever experienced.

Do hallucinations caused by severe sleep deprivation count? A few times during the more intense parts of some school semesters, we would have to pull all-nighters, sometimes a few in a row. I've experienced some pretty strong hallucinations as a result of having to stay up in excess of 40 hours in a row, coupled with heavy stimulant intake (Guarana, Caffeine, etc). I once had to drive home at 3 AM after finishing a project, so I could shower and take a short nap before an 11 AM exam, and presentation, and damn...the street lights were dancing, it was slightly foggy, and the little wisps of of clouds would seem to beckon at me, and seem to break through my windshield and envelop me. Furthermore, I swore that I could see animal ghosts (Foxes, Coyotes, etc) darting across the highway out of the corners of my eyes. They were not real; a reality check proved that to be the case, and they were too ghostly to exist. They were more like caricatures of said animals rendered in sparks, and flames. Now, as for hallucinations during a state between hypnagagia and hypnopompia, I once saw this massive blue and white starburst occur in front of my eyes. It continued to burn for a few seconds, and then began to get closer and closer to me. I totally freaked out when it literally entered my very being... I was experiencing sleep paralysis at the time, so of course, this was a particularly frightening experience. I still don't know what the heck that was about! I've also had "microdreams", where I feel like certain events are going on around me, or certain people are present; I've even had sensations where I feel like my father is sitting at the edge of my bed, just like when he'd use to wake me up when I was in elementary school. And then I'd wake up, and realize he's not there, and get all nostalgic. I think my subconscious is trying to tell me something...

Was almost falling asleep when I arrived from work for lunch break, and someone woke me up with a text message. I look for the iphone and see a black cat made of smoke right next to my pillow. Gab, was that you?!

I dont know if this was a hallucination or a very lucid dream i was in this Wonder land type setting walking on a grassy field it was like on a top of a moutain I try to fly with using the G force where i push the gravity and bend it with my feet as soon as i get Airbourne a clock pops out of no where and says Fly i fall back down to where i was and i see this guy walk in a door there were lots of sound an noises going off but i can't remember what they sounded like my head was ringing i start walking for a little bit then the moutain split in two thats all i remember

I've seen a giant crab crawling across my bedroom door. I've also had voices wake me up.

Woke up one morning a few days ago, and this image stayed in my field of vision for 30 seconds, or more. Very clear, and not moving, or distorting in any way. Hypnogogic.jpg Does anyone have any idea what it represents, or have seen it before ?

I often hallucinate a baby laughing, in an evil way 0.0 Also, I often hear, "that night, I knew what real pain felt like" quite a lot. Although, I'm used to them now, so it doesn't bother me now that much.

YOUR OWN VOICE wow how interesting. did it sound creepy or shocking when you heard it? It is very creepy and shocking at the same time but i dont listen. next time i will.

Gab, was that you?! Maybe, but I don't recall, Your Honor. Would have been nice though, projecting as a cat. My last HH was a very gracefull cat like animal, but large, jumping of a platform. It was slow-mo, and almost like a study of muscle movement. Love my HH.

Let' get H.I. Everybody! Lol. Sorry, I think that is funny. I probably get as much entertainment out if my HI as I do out just about anything else. I often see waving coral or anything I have looked at much during the day. Often it is a blue expanse of water with vivid waves. Last night I was seeing large clear images of faces and clearly heard a bell nearby. For fun I will pay more attention tonight and report back.

This usually wakes me up and it sometimes scares me how loud it can get just in my head without actually using my physical ears. That's it. At some point, you stop using your physical ears to hear and you switch to something else. But there is a distinct difference between the two sounds. You can tell, that the sound is not coming from the outside anymore, but from someplace inside. Sometimes that's how I can tell that I'm already asleep and can get up to LD/OBE.

At one point during one of my recent naps i had this feeling during the HH that i can roughly describe as "My left arm is my right arm and my right arm is my left arm". Trippy.

Well, I hoped to see something cool and report back, but it was pretty tame. So, I set out to remember and report back, and this is all I got: I saw a gold background and lines started forming kind of like a cartton of a fuse burning. The line had a fuzzy texture and looked electric. They formed something like a guitar. Then I clearly felt that I was sitting fully up right in a chair, despite being asleep in bed. Then a dream started, so that was all I got.
