First time speaking to my subconcious

So last night I woke up around 3am because my stomach was hurting out of hunger. I had a small snack and drink and decided I would try to WILD again, since it had been quite some time since my last. I lied back down in bed and focused on/chanted about WILDing. It worked, I didn't really feel the transition so much as I felt that what I was imagining was no longer just a thought but I could feel my surroundings in the dream state. I did a quick RC with sticking my finger through my palm, before I was going to jump out the balcony door, just to make sure.

So I open the door and walk out, instead of a balcony it leads to a courtyard. I stand there in the courtyard and call out "I want to speak to my subconscious." From all angles I hear a voice, "this is I, I am coming." It honestly terrified me and I woke up, heart racing... but it was a FA. Not realizing this I focus on falling back into the dream and lucid back into the room before the courtyard. I walk back out into the yard and behind me I hear the same voice, "I am coming." Once again this scares me out of my lucid state into a FA. I focus again on what I was trying to do and roll out into the room again. This time the door out is open, and I feel that there is someone right around the corner. I watch intently as I see myself walk through the door into the room and sit down. My subconscious is in my own image, same voice, same body, same everything. I calm my nerves and sit on the end of the bed facing myself. I say hello and receive a hello back accompanied by a slight smile.

I think for a moment what I am going to ask, what my greatest fear is, what would make me happier, what I should do with life. I decide to start at the top with my greatest fear. As I open my mouth to speak I am cut off by him, he says "I do not want to answer that right now." I am taken back as I hadn't even verbalized the question yet, so I decide on something a little less extreme. I ask how he feels about my wife, he responds "I think she fits us very well." I smile and agree with him. since I am on the topic I try to summon a previous relationship that had gone very poorly. She wont appear for me and my subconscious frowns at me, telling me "we don't need to bring her into this right now." and waves dismissively in the direction she would have entered. We talk for a few more minutes before I lose my lucidity and drop out of the dream. The exact conversation I don't even remember.

But, what I would like to ask is has anyone else contacted their subconscious and been say declined on a question, or dominated in conversation by them? I didn't feel like I could control the conversation in the sense of asking and receiving an answer always. It was like my subconscious decided what it did and did not want to talk about. I plan on talking to him again when I lucid next, any ideas on what to ask? or how to get an answer when it does not want to give one?

      Duuuuude...

You know, I never thought of communicating with my subconscious (whatever that really is or means) in a dualistic way. Since it worked for you, I would ask it more existential questions. I would ask what the nature of subconscious is, what the connection (if any) is between consciousness and the universe or other minds. I'd also ask the subconsciousness what the subconscious of the subconscious is. I'd try to get deep with it. For me, lucid dreaming is a tool for understanding things like this.

That's so awesome, how you guys communicated.

      This is on my list:

      - tell me something important for me to know
      - show me something important for me to see
      - tell me about my most successfull past life (if you believe in this)
      - what is my purpose in this lifetime
      - let me experience unconditional love

Why not ask your subconscious about how he sees your relationship? Does he see himself as your servant, or your master? Or are you equal team mates? If you're going to get intimate with your inner self, as it were, then it seems only too reasonable, that you're agreed on what kind of a relationship it is going to be.

Interesting ideas for questions. The way he strode and spoke seemed more of a close friend than a dominant/submissive relationship. It has really made me think about life though, and how there is so much more I can experience. I felt changed when I woke up, more in tune with myself I think, all I know is now I want to know more. Like discovering a part of myself I did not know.

I made another attempt at contacting it last night, but sadly did not have a productive dream journey. I will try again tonight.

I want to tune into myself more and I believe conversations with my subconscious will help that. I have so many questions i must ask now!

I see my subconsious as my partner. Me. As an older teacher, infinitelly smarter than I am. Patiently waiting for me to start asking for guidance.

Have you tried directly talking to your subconscience during day? Directing your question, as if it was a real person. And when falling asleep, that's when is the best time to tell yourself what you want. Asking for help to be given to you in dreams and by intuition.

That is very interesting how your subconscious was controlling the conversation. That sounds exactly the way the subconscious mind would in gage in a conversation with the conscious mind. I feel the subconscious reflects back to us our thoughts and desires in a physical tangible way but never exactly how we imagined it. It has its own agenda. For example I implant(lucid dream affirming) the idea of lotto numbers 738 and the subconscious mind said no no the numbers you want are 7380 ( # that actually came out) 3 digit number yields $500 and the 4 digit number yielded $5000. It's like the subconscious hears what your saying but always has a slightly better idea in mind.
As your conversation reflected so well. Peace.

"when you fall unconscious, what your mind expresses is a dream.
When you are aware, what your mind expresses is creativity. It creates your life.
When you are in a higher state of consciousness, it not only creates the life of whatever you want, but also on whom ever you want". -LifeBlissFoundation

Why don't you ask it for easier lucid dreams in general? or a lucid dream every night? you know, if it doesn't cut you off.

That's really cool. The voice booming around the courtyard does sound kind of creepy, but the fact that you talked to it like that was amazing. I'm going to try to do that in my next LD. I'll ask it what the meaning of life is and how my life is going so far (success or failure)

That's what I was thinking, maybe you could ask your subconscious politely to give you some dreamsigns during the night. You know, so you guys could talk more and for some positive self-development/fulfillment. If it would be beneficial to you both, maybe he would be glad to oblige. Considering how easily he presented himself to you in the first place, it shouldn't be that hard... Just a thought

I have always thought about talking to myself that way, I'm very happy for you. I can only imagine how it would be to talk to yourself without your ego getting in the way.

That sound really amazing, and just makes me even more motivatet to keep trying to lucid dream.
