Hey guys, this is my first post. so sorry if I ramble or go on tangents. I guess I need to release a big buildup of tension in my mind about the topic of LDing... It has become so frustrating to me that it feels like nearly EVERY single person in my life (even close friends and family) have NO idea... Or at least, won't even listen with an open mind when I try to explain to them the experience and wonders of lucid dreaming. 99% of them are convinced that I'm either over-exaggerating, that lucid dreaming is fake, or that I'm just crazy. At least that is the way they look at me when I decide to try sharing and introducing them to what I now firmly believe is BY FAR the most ecstatic and wonderful experience open to man. Even in the midst of my frustration, I took advantage of the freedom I have in my public speaking class to give an informative speech about Lucid Dreaming, and I tried to explain it as thoroughly as possible... I was astonished at the amount of dull, careless looks I faced while giving this speech – People seemed to be confused by my enthusiasm and excitement for this topic. And I knew, I sensed it, that none of them even cared to simply Google “Lucid Dreaming.'' But EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW. EVERYONE IN THE WORLD NEEDS TO EXPERIENCE A LUCID DREAM. Maybe then they would have enough sense in wanting to pursue this art. I guess one way to look at it is that it is their own loss for not listening and missing this endless opportunity for a lifetime, but I just wish it wasn't that way. I feel embarrassed and humiliated by this sense of isolation and disconnection from others about this ultimate passion that everyone deserves to have, but that's part of the reason why I joined dreamviews. I've been visiting this site quite a bit for about a year, trying to finally experience a lucid dream for myself, and just truly prove to myself that it is in fact real.. I experienced a few semi lucid dreams which were fantastic in themselves, and finally my first WILD about a month ago... When I finally achieved that and successfully WILD'ed... And experienced the sensation of my mind literally sliding out of my body, and then opening my eyes in a dream state... Feeling a fully conscious physical body and mind, free to truly explore the unlimited frontiers of my imagination, which was restrained and limited in waking life until then.... I knew that Lucid dreaming was it for me. The beginning of a lifelong privilege to enjoy the purest form of adventure, open for any of us humans to learn. People need to learn, understand, appreciate, and fully take advantage of this incredibly powerful gift (albeit locked to us at first) we have been given in this bundle of life. I don't know why I took so long to join but I am so glad I finally joined dreamviews, where there is a true community of wonderful, creative, and open-minded people who have taken action to unlock this gift as well. Please share any thoughts, I just want to feel real connections and exchanges with other people who can appreciate lucid dreaming as I do. |
