Well your irregular sleep pattern might contribute. There might actually be a regularity in your irregular sleep pattern, that is that you learned how to deal with your random amounts of sleep. The only way to know if you can do it is if you try.

To answer question three. Your details of your dream were probably poor because you haven't tried to recall them much yet, after a few weeks you should see yourself become much better at remembering your dreams.
