Hey, I'm new here.
I randomly got SP a few nights ago except I was lying on my stomach, and I didn't really know much about it. I searched around the internet, basically "lying in bed, cannot move or talk" and eventually I came up on something called Sleep Paralysis.
I'm 14, by the way.
I was fascinated by the stories people told about "shadow people" and other creatures, usually donning bloody faces and long, greasy hair. Screaming at them, I would suppose, during sleep paralysis. However, during most of these stories, people were lying on their back, and not their stomach. Still not sure of why this is.
Anyway, I also read that you can induce lucid dreaming through SP. I read up on it a lot, and tried it last night and I got it on the first go. I relaxed completely, did the deep breathing on my back etc. Eventually I started to feel weightless in parts of my body.
Then my vision started to shift and morph like a terrifying kaleidoscope, and I could hear whispers and wind, and static noise. It seemed as though I could open my eyes if I wanted to, but I remembered my "researching" and it advised that I shouldn't, unless I want to see the shadow people and all that. It was getting pretty intense and it didn't show any signs of letting up, so I remembered that if I wanted to get out of SP, I should break my breathing pattern and wiggle my fingers. I did both of these in quick succession, and the kaleidoscope started to fade.
From there I knew I could get out of it if I wanted to, so I just went with it. Eventually my vision started to tunnel and I dropped down out of a "pipe" and into the dream world, and into the middle of a standoff between armed robbers and a gigantic police force.
Needless to say I was lucid from there. I must have did it right?
Basically I wanted to ask if my method of LDing was practical, and did anybody else get the kaleidoscope effect with the whispers and the colours and the loud static noise during SP?
Cheers.
