Having normal orderly dreams isn't all that bad and shouldn't be an obstacle to achieving lucidity. For one thing there's a different feel of the dream reality that one learns to recognize over time so that helps even if dreams look exactly like real life. Now, that may be a little hard if it one doesn't have a lot lds to start with, but you can work around this issue. Here's what you can try to do:
- condition yourself to do extraordinary RCs like telekinesis, flying, etc and know that if this happens it can only be a dream. Repeat to yourself "if I move something with my mind, then I am dreaming"
- use your intent to induce lds. This is a very strong persistent act of will that you tell yourself before falling asleep that you will recognize this is a dream. You can also use mantras like "I (will) know/recognize/realize that I am dreaming"
- you can also try to incubate an ld. Simply visualize any scene and pretend that you are becoming lucid, feel the euphoria
- finally, one of the methods that I find works best is combine the some or all of above with a wbtb. Get 4-6 hrs of sleep, wake up and think that you are going to have an ld. Be sure to be awake enough so that you don't immediately drop off to sleep. Even if it takes a while to fall asleep, be patient and repeat your mantra. WBTBs really do work wonders.
Good luck!
