Why has my technique been failing me?

I haven't been able to become lucid for the past 2 weeks and it's starting to suck. Im using mild and wbtb, accompanied with reality checks and awarrness durring the day. I don't think that I'm a on a dryspell because I'm able to recall dreams, which is something I can't do on dryspells. Also I'm consistent with my dream journal and I keep a strong intent. Should I use a different technique ar stick with mild and wbtb for now. I've been using the technique for at least 1.5-2 months and used to have good results with it. So what should I do?

And you have a consistent sleeping pattern? When do you go to sleep and when do you wake up for WBTB?

Assuming you're doing everything else the same as when you were succeeding, I think it has to do with your confidence level. Confidence can be the difference between success and failure. Obviously, your confidence is down since you're posting about this and it tends to wear away the longer the dry spell goes.

Here's what I suggest doing about it: imagining yourself doing your and technique and succeeding, just like the good ol' days. Then, as you actually do your technique, imagine you're doing exactly what you imagined and that you're on your way to success. Get that confidence back up and chances are you'll find yourself back on track.

Don't let failure reduce your confidence. If you fail, make up some sort of excuse why you failed. Tell yourself something like "My sleep schedule was off" or "I wasn't focused enough" or "It just wasn't my night tonight". These excuses can keep your confidence up during the low times and help eliminate dry spells.

I think dolphin is pretty on point. I know I'm no pro at this stuff, but what he said speaks to me big time. My niche is OOB and I too have been on a overly long dry spell. It almost feels like I lost my confidence in my techniques or knowledge. From past experience I see how much confidence played in on my ability to have them. Plus the whole intent thing. It's crazy how powerful your intentions can be.

The techniques point you to the truth, doing a copy/paste text book method doesn't a lucid dreamer make, or everyone would have as many LDs as dolphin!

You need to work hard and find something that works for you. Keep up the techniques, but keep gaining awareness about LDing... and listening to dolphin.

This is great. Any time that I don't LD, the blame isn't on some random coincidence (like dry spell), I did something wrong, and I am going to fix it. You can LD every night, no one is stopping you!

      Congrats on the lucid!!

And yes, buidling up your own experience, knowing your strengths and weaknesses is what helps the most, in addition of perseverance, of course!

Now that you turned lucid, be assured that you will get lots more. Visualize the feeling you have when lucid as you drift of to sleep and remind yourself to re-experience the state. That works great!
