What are your dream-related resolutions for 2015?*

I want to merge with and meditate with meditative-animals, like you did with those Sloths

~Dreamer~, I like the dream I just read in the thread:

"Share your dream from last night in one sentence"

I dream of being animals sometimes (like a penguin). Also sometimes when watching David Attenborough I space-out to sense what some animal is sensing.

Some snake smells that a mouse has passed by so the snake settles-in to wait for the mouse to pass by again. This snake can live 2 weeks without food before it's organs shut-down and the little snake, dies.

They had a camera watching that snake for 2 weeks. It never left it's place. It nearly died. But on day 14 a mouse happened by so the snake swallowed it and probably got to live another couple of weeks.

I imagine being that snake, living in the "here and now" meditating for 2 weeks.

Then, there are big saltwater crocodiles. If they get a big feed they won't even think of food for a month or two. Some just swim the ocean or be still with just it's eyes and nostrils above the water, hour upon hour, ... in the hear and now, ... with nothing on its mind, ... just seeing, ... hearing, ... smelling, ... feeling, ... (awareness - meditation).

Spacing-out with animals to leave the cacophony of the human mind behind and tune-in to some animal mind is deep meditation indeed.

I tried that last year and didn't get as much progress due to the hectic nature of my life this last year. I have a new vigor for LDing taking into this next year. I hope to get this much as well. It is gonna be an awesome year for us either way!

      - Meditate, meditate, meditate!
      - After I get the hang of it, I'm going to practice WILD.
      - More lucid dreams ofcourse.

I've decided 2015 will be the "year of the (awareness of the) breath." It just clicked that the breath unifies everything for me: mindfulness (breath is used to "center" yourself, stop, and "enter the present moment"), meditation (*all* about the breath), relaxation for sleep (I relax more and more on every breath), RC (nose pinch is my RC of choice [despite its recent failure ]), and, with this post I found (one of the few useful posts I've ever found outside of DV), I really decided that's what it's all about for me. With my continuing-to-improve dream awareness, I need a boost to state awareness which just isn't punching through the fog of the dream state despite strong day work, somehow. I'm really excited about this. Kudos to the author Mattson:

You are now aware you are breathing.
      Trippy huh?
What if I told you in the span of time it took you to read the title and this part here you were lucid?
That feeling you had upon reading the title is exactly what you want to feel to achieve lucidity. That is what lucidity feels like. What you just experienced is lucidity. You just experienced the most important feeling in the world.
Notice how I speak in the past tense? The more you pay attention the closer your lucidity gets to oblivion. It is quite the balancing act.
Familiarize yourself with this feeling. It is the key to lucid dreaming.
The next time you do a reality check invoke this feeling. Become aware of your breathing. When you lay in bed to go to sleep don't chant a mantra to yourself. Just focus on your breathing as they come in and out... focus.
Focus and lucidity are one in the same. Determination and lucidity are one in the same.
They will come. Awareness is key. You now know what awareness feels like at its purest form.
      Sweet dreams.
EDIT: Oh and before I forget... REMEMBER THIS FEELING!

      Awesome resolucids, everyone!

      In 2015, I will:

      - become comfortable and confident with WILD

      - make WBTB seem less daunting by changing my perception, thinking of WBTB as an exciting opportunity to have a lucid dream, rather than a struggle to drag myself out of bed

      - incorporate MILD meditation into my regular routine

Sweet dreams to all, and happy new year!

Woah! I forgot that I used to be super annoyed by WBTB too! I thought that it was like the devil and didn't want to do it, but I did make myself and now when I WBTB I am super excited that I have more of a chance to LD and will have better dreams. thinking about it!

This makes me realize that I look at dream goals almost in a bad light because I feel like they make me lucid less unless I am on a really good streak. I shall work on my attitude towards goals this year.

-start a DJ and record at least 1 dream per night
-remember to pause and stabilise when lucid, then recall dream goals.

In 2015, I will be more aware in my daily life. I will also be more diligent about improving my recall while I'm in dreams and when I wake up.

For me, it's to put an end to the stagnation/plateauing of my overall LD skill over the last several years: It's time to start doing unprecedented, amazing stuff again. That's pretty much it!

My current ideas for achieving this:
      - Improve self-awareness
      - Improve conscious access to memory during LDs

      Simple goal, simple plan.

      Mine are basic:

      - Improve dream recall.
      - Attain lucidity again. If I can have one LD a week, that would be wonderful.
      - Don't get discouraged by slow progress.

I think a RESOLUCID (lol) for me, is to be more consistent with my dream journal. I used to journal everyday, but slacked off. My excuse was I didn't have time in the mornings, BUT NO EXCUSES THIS YEAR. I would like to journal daily, but once a week is my minimum.
For often, when one is asleep, there is something in consciousness which declares that what then presents itself is but a dream. ~Aristotle

Aaa ah, yes embracing WBTB is a serious resolucid, as is conquering return-to-sleep

      My resolucids are:

      - Better LD consistency

      - To become better at staying lucid once in a dream, and

      - To become better at dream control.

This is going to come in separate parts, but there are some things:

      • I'd like to give this indirect-methods-Raduga-phase-DEILD a proper testing, motivated by Searcher's successes and my intuitive feeling, this could be working great.

      • Then afterwards, if it works or not, I'd really like to get my first "proper" WILD with direct techniques.
I dream of learning a tech which works at any time incl. upon going to bed.

      • Get at least five sessions of lucid darting in, and see if that benefits my game.

      • Go to space.

Its a bit late but I've had i since the first so:
-Keep my dream recall to at least a dream every night, or as close to as possible
-Work my way up to at least having 1 lucid a week
-Stay motivated for the ENTIRE YEAR rather than going in bursts of a few weeks.

Ps. 100th post and I hink i've just got 1000 community hall points lol, woohoo!

How is everyone doing now that six and a half months are done?

Still working on setting up my "alpha version" of my dreams. I have my inventory set up and I am training with my dream dad to become better at "anti lucid control" and I have had a couple off months I think. I haven't been as good with keeping track of my lds, I know the total, but not weekly and monthly like normal.

I was just thinking about this thread the other day!
I have definitely not focused on WILD and WBTB like I planned to (so far), but I have become better at DEILDing, which is a good start!
I am going to read through Sageous' WILD class lessons soon to get on track with this.

Despite not sticking to my resolucids yet, I have had a great 6 months of lucid dreaming, both in terms of frequency and positive experiences.

I'm currently on pace to hit 372/1000 LDs by the end of the year. I had about 350 LDs all of the year before so it seems I'm on a huge plateau as far as all parts of my LD game are concerned, including stabilization, control and DEILDing. I try to break though every night, though!

      Dedication: A
Mindfulness, maintaining extended reflection moments: A- / B+
Breath awareness: C (more or less focusing on general mindfulness rather than mindfulness of breath, breath is just one of the triggers to regain mindfulness)
Meditation: D- (as in the formal seated/lying type, walking meditation I consider "Mindfulness/reflection")
WBTB: F (I just hate WBTB, what can I say, gotta keep working that waking up formula)

LDs: going on 30, about my steady long-term average of 1/week (but they come and go in streaks)

Dreaming: Density/frequency of epics on the continued slow rise since the 2nd half of 2014. Lots more semi-lucids in 2015. Recall ups and downs corresponding with life stress and sleep schedule. Some really truly amazing non/semi-lucid epics. Fun fun fun, can't live without these!

Best hot streak yet (on a business trip in May): 10 LDs in about 8 days.

      So not bad all told!

Dreamer, fryingman, dolphin. Nice to see you guys enjoying yourself with LDing. I am working on something in my dreams right now (if you read my latest DJ entry you will see my attempt) that is super fun and exploratory and both my waking and sleeping mind agree that it is awesome.

I think that the thing I have learned the most this year is to get dream goals that I can be excited about at all times. In Dream and out. Because sometimes dream me thinks that waking me has boring goals.

I still feel it's a little early to say for sure, though I'm seeing some hints that I'm headed toward major progress (just in small, very gradual steps, rather than in major rapid breakthroughs)—eventually, if not by the end of this year! One thing is certain, though: I've learned a lot of interesting stuff over the last 8 or so months that I never knew before. I've been experimenting with and learning about self-awareness/meditation/self-observation, and I'm becoming very familiar with the nature and content of my dreams, regularly recognizing day residue in dream content (sometimes even in cases where it would appear to be completely unrecognizable). Even things like my waking-life thoughts, daydreams, dreamlets, dreams, and even HI/HH, which all look like totally different things on the surface, seem to start looking more and more like the same thing the more I study them.

I never anticipated this, but this is intriguing enough that I think my long-term goal might be changing a bit now: Instead of just LDing, I want to LD and do some reverse-engineering/hacking of my mind and personality.
