Thread: Informal "Dark" Lucid Monthly Tasks?

You had me at 'zombie apocalypse'

And hey, who says there wouldn't be a prize? Maybe we could work something out...

-Destroy the planet
-psychologically test a dream character with no ethical boundaries
-vivisect a living dream character
-allow yourself to be eaten alive (by wolves, humans, carnivorous locusts, etc)
-allow yourself to be swallowed whole by a giant carnivore and be digested
-make your personal Silent Hill

Exorcize the exorcist girl
Survive an exorcism
Invade a planet
End the World
Sell your soul to the Devil, what will he give you for it?/
Visit Hell and make a deal with the devil
Raise a graveyard
Find a vampire and stake it
Become a vampire, turn a DC
Taste a witch’s brew
Fly on a broom
Visit your favorite horror movie

*Possess a DC,
*Eat a DC's head
*Rip off a DC's arms and legs
*Amputate loads of DC's limbs and use them to create a weird, mutant monster thingy.

Dying and being revived by a witch doctor as a zombie.

Definitely a great idea, i have no suggestions (creativity isn't my strong point) but i'm going to try a few of everyone elses

I voted against. I believe in the reality of DCs, and I don't think a "task" promoting various mistreatments of them is a good idea. How about tasks like "set yourself on fire" or "meet Hitler". Those are dark, but neither of them does any harm to DCs.

I'm a fan of it. I don't do the tasks but I'm a fan of antagonism in my dreams. (ie. throw the dark stuff at me, makes it fun =P)

Plus, these tasks would be alot easier. We have a much more vivid image of what each of these would be like. It is lab-testing proven that we can better associate to things that endanger our survival, are socially no good or most other dark related things.

Thus these dreams would be more vivid and more stable. They should be easier to jump-start as well. I know for a fact that I can V-WILD to a dark theme more easily then a different one.

Just what we need... A P.E.T.A for DCs. People for the ethical treatment of dream characters.

I am in no way suggesting that, haha, a 'task uprising' and that's my whole point of using the word 'informal.' Why does it have to be a 'super-secret' group of people that decide tasks for people to achieve? I'm just tossing out fun suggestions, and seeing what the people have to say.

By the way, you didn't give your opinion either.

Oh, sorry. I voted for no on the darker tasks. I have enough horrifying experiences hallucinating through WILDs. I need something positive to transition into when the dream finally arrives.

My favorite tasks are those that challenge our sense of self and perception, or involve interaction with dream characters.

And I'm serious about the uprising Everyone who wants a darker task, go complete the current tasks, and get busy in the task club. It is the end of the month, so I think voting has already ended. Lets get on this next month, though.

I have the same problem. Some months, I'm just not into the monthly task. Then, unfortunately, I don't get to vote to make a better one (see how I refrain from abusing my DG powers ) It is a cycle. I guess that is why I keep my own list of personal tasks.

I totally did that when I actually bothered doing the tasks ;P

Alas, I don't bother any more.

The basic task should be open to everyone and the advanced task to the task club, or something along those lines. It also sucks that naturals are going to have that much more of an impact over what the task is.

Actually, the naturals just don't really care to do the tasks because they don't feel like they have anything to prove ;P

I like having them suggested and voted on by people who have already completed the tasks. I think it adds a good reason to complete the task in the first place. A little motivation for people who have nothing to prove (), but might have something fun to suggest.

The problem with that is that it's based on trust. I could easily say that I just walked on a rainbow, and make up some bullshit story to go with it. The truth is, they're really personal goals, so why not make the real deal fun?

Oh yeah! This would be tight! Maybe they don't all have to be dark, but are actually exciting not just something random.

One of them could be the first goal that I have had in my sig:
Become a huge monster and then destroy a city and fight another huge monster that has been created in Area 51 to take you on.

Here are some other ones I can think of:

Fight King Kong with your bare hands( or Godzilla, The Hulk, or any other giant Hollywood monster)
Snipe or assassinate the president(doesn't have to be Barack Obama, I would actually do Bush or it could just be a made-up president)
Rip someone's heart straight out of their body
Destroy Planet Earth
