How often do you have a lucid dream?

Okay first off i did a search and couldnt find a thread on this topic, it seems like a common question but hey, im new and couldnt find one.
secondly, i would have liked to post this as a poll buy hey, im new and couldnt figure out how. lol. If anyone would like to create one with this subject that would be great.

okay now down to business. After lurking around this site for the last couple weeks and reading up on all the info, i've noticed that ALOT of members have signed up for an account years ago , but they only have an LD count of lets say 4?? i've noticed that with ALOT of members. Years of being signed up but very few LD's? Is this common for the majority of people? Do some of you members have LD's everynight??
I personally would like to Ld at the very least once a week, is that a goal that is very hard to obtain?? I just find it discouraging too see people practicing for years and not having success.

If you guys could give me some feed back it would be much appreciated.

      thanks alot.

Well, the vets that still log on (well, most of them) came for the lucid dreaming, gave it up, and stayed for the community. So, keep in mind that some of the older members haven't actually been trying for years on end. I've had 8 without much effort, though I could probably bump that up to at least once a week in a couple months' time. It takes patience and won't be learned overnight, but you can probably expect your first one within the first month. Naiya is very talented at LD'ing, and goes through streaks of multiple lucids per night. Mzzkc is another highly talented LDer. Everyone learns at their own rate too, and there probably are a few members who have been trying for years now, but it is highly unusual. Give it a shot, stick with it, see what happens. You might be a natural.

I've had around 75 lucids since coming back about 2 years ago. I have a goal to have atleast 1 lucid per month, but I usually have around 2-3. Anyway, yeah there are a lot of people who do come on, but they just post in off-topic for some reason and forget to practice, like what Mario said. For me, I feel like it would be a big loss to just forget about lucid dreaming.

Don't get discouraged. It just takes patience and mental attention.

It is like that Stephen Laberge guy said, lucid dreaming is easy once you know what you are doing. Well, attaining lucidity is fairly easy. Phasing through walls or re-entering dreams once you've lost vision can be tricky but you'll get it. I still can't throw a dumb stupid fireball.

My first month here (Dec 09) I had 5 lucids. The next month 8 and the next I was up to 11.

I started slacking on the journal and fell to 7 in March and 6 for April but still managed my goal of 1 a week.

I got serious and had 12 in May. One every few days.

June was the worst month yet but only because I was smoking some reefer (medicinal), and the two don't mix. Not at all. 4 for that month.

I'm back for July though and focused. I had a lucid within days of trying to induce and fully confident I'll be able to once again have 'em every few nights.

Long story short....I bring the ruckus. I gets mine and you can too. Keep a journal going and be patient. It takes a few months before things come into focus.

      Good luck, bro.

It seems there are few people that have actually been trying for months and have not LD'd

I'm just lazy, but maybe because of summer, I can try to use these few months to try and up my LD count

I've heard of some people taking months, some will LD within a day or two of joining and researching. Most seem to have their first within 1-4wks, which seems to be the norm. Mine was 3wks after joining, but I've had 2 in the past when I was younger

Study up. Find a technique that works, and hit it!

      Basically what Requiem said.

I've had 77 in one year, but I'm slowly getting better.
