curious about the general populace here

Hello everyone I signed up on this forum some time ago and have not made it a regular pitstop. I was kinda interested to see if my preconceived notions where correct or not. As a very overgeneralized idea (and very likely very wrong) most people who share a common interest share some traits with each other. Anybody else ever wonder about that?

So if you would please humor my blunt attempt at a socialogical experiment and answer some questions.

First off do you consider yourself smarter then the average person, average or below?

Have you ever taken a personality profile for fun or work like the myers-brig and if so how did the test come out?

Do you consider yourself to be religious? And if so what religion do you adhere to?

Do you follow politics and if so are you more liberal or conservative?

Are you a lucid dreamer? And if so have you ever felt the need to exagerate your dreams to fit in on this site?

How much of your daily life do you spend thinking about your dreams?

There you have it hopefully not too intrusive for anybody. If someone does not want to fill out a question feel free to skip it on whatever grounds you think you should exclude an answer. But, if you do explain why please.

Yes i consider myself smarter. Years ago for what its worth I tested at 130 IQ. And yes it was the long all day test.

Have you ever taken a personality profile for fun or work like the myers-brig and if so how did the test come out?
If you are not familiar with this one google myers-brig and pop down your result. Mine is intj

Do you consider yourself to be religious? And if so what religion do you adhere to?
No i'm not religious, I grew up lutheran but outgrew it.

Do you follow politics and if so are you more liberal or conservative?
I'm more conservative and no I didn't vote for Obama.

Are you a lucid dreamer? And if so have you ever felt the need to exagerate your dreams to fit in on this site?
I am a lucid dreamer but have not felt inclined to share my dreams as of yet.

How much of your daily life do you spend thinking about your dreams?
Maybe 5 minutes a day if I get a really goofy one.

First off do you consider yourself smarter then the average person, average or below?

Depends on what you mean by smart. In general I'd say I'm a little bit above average.

Have you ever taken a personality profile for fun or work like the myers-brig and if so how did the test come out?

      Nope.

Do you consider yourself to be religious? And if so what religion do you adhere to?

      I'm not religious.

Do you follow politics and if so are you more liberal or conservative?

      Definitely more liberal.

Are you a lucid dreamer? And if so have you ever felt the need to exagerate your dreams to fit in on this site?

      Yes. Exaggerate? No.

How much of your daily life do you spend thinking about your dreams?

From 20 minutes to 2-3 hours

      -Above average

Have you ever taken a personality profile for fun or work like the myers-brig and if so how did the test come out?
      -Don't believe so

Do you consider yourself to be religious? And if so what religion do you adhere to?
      -Not religious.

Do you follow politics and if so are you more liberal or conservative?
-I don't follow politics, however I am conservative.

Are you a lucid dreamer? And if so have you ever felt the need to exagerate your dreams to fit in on this site?
-Yes I'm a lucid dreamer. Never have exaggerated my dreams.

How much of your daily life do you spend thinking about your dreams?
-Depends what you mean. Thinking about past dreams, almost none. However, to practice awareness, I pretty much constantly think about what this world would be like if it were a dream.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I meant too. Although I do think about my past dreaming experiences.

First off do you consider yourself smarter then the average person, average or below?

It depends on the day, really. Some days I feel smarter, some I feel less. All depends on my mood and self-esteem that particular day. On the average however, I would say slightly above.

Have you ever taken a personality profile for fun or work like the myers-brig and if so how did the test come out?

I have taken several of them quite often throughout my life, I have not taken one recently so I can not say for sure.

On my last Myers-Briggs Personality Assessment I believe I was scored an ISTJ. (Introversion, Sensing, Thinking, Judgment)

Do you consider yourself to be religious? And if so what religion do you adhere to?

      I do not.

Do you follow politics and if so are you more liberal or conservative?

I follow politics to an extent. I would describe myself as a moderate liberal.

Are you a lucid dreamer? And if so have you ever felt the need to exagerate your dreams to fit in on this site?

No. I am a practicing dreamer, however my recall is so horrid it's very common for me not to remember a single detail from my nights batch of dreams.

How much of your daily life do you spend thinking about your dreams?

Depends on how gung-ho I am about improving my recall and obtaining lucidity. On average, I would say no less than 30 minutes daily. Also, this is not on past dreams, but on how much time I dedicate to thinking of the phenomena of dreaming, sleep, lucidity, et cetera.

      Hope this helps!

First off do you consider yourself smarter then the average person, average or below?

      -Smarter, deffinately.

Have you ever taken a personality profile for fun or work like the myers-brig and if so how did the test come out?

      -No

Do you consider yourself to be religious? And if so what religion do you adhere to?

-I am an atheist. And I never doubt it either.

Do you follow politics and if so are you more liberal or conservative?

-I actually believe that things need radical changes. And that those changes will not be solved with politics. Without going into detail, I do believe an american revolution would benefit us all.

No, I'm not a communist, nor an "America-hater" or anything. But america IS a superpower, and therefore a logical first step.

Are you a lucid dreamer? And if so have you ever felt the need to exagerate your dreams to fit in on this site?

-I am a lucid dreamer. I have had some lucid's before discovering this site, though I do not consider myself a "natural".

I never feel the need to "exagerate" my dreams to the community, as much as "camoflaging" some details :p

Well it depends on how you look at the world. I think im more logical than the avrage person. But im possitive that im not any more booksmart than most people.

Have you ever taken a personality profile for fun or work like the myers-brig and if so how did the test come out?
Well i have taken a few but i cant really remember the outcome. It really doesnt matter what it said because im who i am.

Do you consider yourself to be religious? And if so what religion do you adhere to?
I believe that something greater than ourselfes created us. I also believe that the true story behind religion has ben stretched across the earth so much that there are many adlibs in every religion. (eg: the telephone game)

Do you follow politics and if so are you more liberal or conservative?
I know a lot about the court system but i dont really care about politics.

Are you a lucid dreamer? And if so have you ever felt the need to exagerate your dreams to fit in on this site?
I do lucid dream. And no i dont stretch my dreams. Because who does it concern other than me? I also do not doubt people because they are the ones with the experiences. And thoose experiances are only felt by one person. That person is the only one that felt the dream and thus that leaves other people clueless. (although i did doubt some people before i had my first lucid.)

How much of your daily life do you spend thinking about your dreams?
All the time. But it doesnt consume my life.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

First off do you consider yourself smarter then the average person, average or below? I don't realy know what is meant by the "average person" or what kind of intelligence you mean.

Have you ever taken a personality profile for fun or work like the myers-brig and if so how did the test come out? I've taken online versions a few times and gotten different answers. INTP and ISFP usually.

Do you consider yourself to be religious?
      no

Do you follow politics and if so are you more liberal or conservative?
      liberal

      Are you a lucid dreamer?
I have about 3 or more lucids a month And if so have you ever felt the need to exagerate your dreams to fit in on this site? no

How much of your daily life do you spend thinking about your dreams? It varies depending on how interesting my dreams from the previous night were and how busy I am. maybe 1/4 on the days where I do reality checks.

First off do you consider yourself smarter then the average person, average or below?

Not only do I consider myself smarter, but I also believe I'm more intellectual. I feel like I notice things more than other people, and think deeper than others.

Have you ever taken a personality profile for fun or work like the myers-brig and if so how did the test come out?

      No.

Do you consider yourself to be religious? And if so what religion do you adhere to?

I'm an athiest; I don't believe in a higher power and won't unless I have a genuine experience.

Do you follow politics and if so are you more liberal or conservative?

No. I only watch political news every now and then. ^^'

Are you a lucid dreamer? And if so have you ever felt the need to exaggerate your dreams to fit in on this site?

Yes, I'm an avid lucid dreamer. I've never exaggerated my dreams, but I did feel a slight need to when I was first starting out.

How much of your daily life do you spend thinking about your dreams?

Out of every 24 hours, I spend three or more.

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I think, but don't remember the answer... though I always get it spread equally <.<

Do you consider yourself to be religious? And if so what religion do you adhere to?

Nop, no religion, I'm more of a skeptic.

Do you follow politics and if so are you more liberal or conservative?

      Not into politics, liberal anyway.

Are you a lucid dreamer? And if so have you ever felt the need to exagerate your dreams to fit in on this site?

1.- Yes 2.- Heck no, they are my dreams, don't need other people to approve of them.

How much of your daily life do you spend thinking about your dreams?

Well, around all day? Depends on what I dreamt that day lol

I consider myself smarter, well, more thought-provoking, than the average person. I'm not sure how much moreso, because everyone is smart in their own way. I would definitely say I ponder things more than the average person.

I've taken Meyers Briggs a few times, and I got INFP.

I am quite religious, in ThePreserver-ism. It's a mix of Buddhism, Hinduism, and a bit of the Abrahamic faiths as well, with a basic guide of Pantheism.

I follow politics, but I'm neither liberal nor conservative, I'm libertarian-moderate. (There are two scales on the spectrum, Liberal and Conservative, and Totalitarian and Libertarian. I fall right down the middle of the first scale, and leaning libertarian on the second.)

I am a lucid dreamer. I do not exaggerate my dreams, as they are already insane enough.

I spend quite a bit of time of my daily life thinking about dreams, probably as much as I do thinking about life in general. I'm a thinker moreso than an actor.

First off do you consider yourself smarter then the average person, average or below?
I know I'm thoughtful and creative, but as far as booksmart/quantitative IQ goes, a bit above average. Basing that on my 31 ACT score.

Do you consider yourself to be religious? And if so what religion do you adhere to?
      No, atheist.

Do you follow politics and if so are you more liberal or conservative?
Conservative, but not in a Fox News sort of way.

Are you a lucid dreamer? And if so have you ever felt the need to exagerate your dreams to fit in on this site?
Sometimes, but no I've never exaggerated.

How much of your daily life do you spend thinking about your dreams?
10 minutes after waking up, usually.

Thanks for the replies thus far folks. Informative and interesting to say the least...or as much as you can get from a few one sentence answers. The reason I wanted to ask these questions is to see if I was correct in some very basic generalizations. Some missed and some hit right where I thought they would. For instance more folks answered they where of no religion or didn't pursue one avidly. I know this one is gonna get me in trouble but, most people who are super religious fail to think for themselves on a broader range of ideas and thoughts. The personality question is how you go about thinking and dealing with things in your daily lives. The other questions should be obvious. Thanks keep em coming in gang.

First off do you consider yourself smarter then the average person, average or below?
I do consider myself to be of above average intelligence, but only in so far as the typically understood definition of the word. People are vastly more complex than a simple sliding scale.

Have you ever taken a personality profile for fun or work like the myers-brig and if so how did the test come out?
      INTP

Do you consider yourself to be religious? And if so what religion do you adhere to?
No. I don't see any point in organised religion in modern society but respect its role in shaping that society over the course of human history. That isn't to say that I discount any of the ideas about the nature of being that are the basis of most religions though.

Do you follow politics and if so are you more liberal or conservative?
Yes I follow politics. Liberal conservatism would be the political ideology closest to my own thoughts.

Are you a lucid dreamer? And if so have you ever felt the need to exagerate your dreams to fit in on this site?
No, but I'm trying to become one. I don't see what the point would be in exaggerating dreams.

How much of your daily life do you spend thinking about your dreams?
Since deciding to start learning to lucid dream, I would say somewhere in the region of a couple of hours spread out throughout the day.

You may have also noticed that I rarely give a straight answer to a question if given the room to expand.

As average and normal as anyone else.

Have you ever taken a personality profile for fun or work like the myers-brig and if so how did the test come out?
      No, never done one.

Do you consider yourself to be religious? And if so what religion do you adhere to?
      Atheist here.

Do you follow politics and if so are you more liberal or conservative?
As Liberal as I can be.

Are you a lucid dreamer? And if so have you ever felt the need to exagerate your dreams to fit in on this site?
Yes, I'm a lucid dreamer since a kid and never felt any kind of need to do such pointless thing.

How much of your daily life do you spend thinking about your dreams?
It pops in my mind now and then everyday.

      Hope I could help

First off do you consider yourself smarter then the average person, average or below?

As in book smart, definitely. This isn't a meaningful question, though, because almost everyone is going to think they're smarter than average.

Have you ever taken a personality profile for fun or work like the myers-brig and if so how did the test come out?

      Yes, I've done a myers-brig test - INTP.

Do you consider yourself to be religious? And if so what religion do you adhere to?

      I'm a devout agnostic.

Do you follow politics and if so are you more liberal or conservative?

Somewhat. I'm a mix of both.

Are you a lucid dreamer? And if so have you ever felt the need to exaggerate your dreams to fit in on this site?

No to both. I've only had 5 lucid dreams, and it's taken me 3 years to even get to the point of once every three weeks.

How much of your daily life do you spend thinking about your dreams?

      Depends on the day.
My username does not mean anything. It's not supposed to signal my religious preferences at all.

First off do you consider yourself smarter then the average person, average or below? Sometimes I feel like I'm a lot smarter then the people around me, other times I just feel average.

Have you ever taken a personality profile for fun or work like the myers-brig and if so how did the test come out? INFJ (44%, 25%, 12%, 22%)

Do you consider yourself to be religious? And if so what religion do you adhere to? Not really, if anything, I am spiritual in that I don't believe in most books people write about religions, but I am open that there may be a higher sort of "being".

Do you follow politics and if so are you more liberal or conservative? I don't like politics..

Are you a lucid dreamer? And if so have you ever felt the need to exaggerate your dreams to fit in on this site? Haven't had one yet :/ I don't exaggerate anything; I say it like it is.

How much of your daily life do you spend thinking about your dreams? It depends: If I had a memorable dream that I think might have importance, then I will think about it a lot during the day. Other days, not at all. But lucid dreaming is always on my mind, because I have yet to achieve one.

First off do you consider yourself smarter then the average person, average or below?

I'm no genius, but its fair to say I'm pretty smart and above average

Have you ever taken a personality profile for fun or work like the myers-brig and if so how did the test come out?
      Nope.

Do you consider yourself to be religious? And if so what religion do you adhere to?

Don't have a religion as such, but I'm open to the idea of some kind of god.

Do you follow politics and if so are you more liberal or conservative?

      Definitely more liberal.

Are you a lucid dreamer? And if so have you ever felt the need to exagerate your dreams to fit in on this site?

I'm a lucid dreamer. Never exaggerate, am always 100% honest

How much of your daily life do you spend thinking about your dreams?

Depends, when I'm motivated I will a lot, when I'm unmotivated, barely at all during the day.

First off do you consider yourself smarter then the average person, average or below?

IQ is fairly meaningless, but for a Basset Hound, I'm smart enough.

Have you ever taken a personality profile for fun or work like the myers-brig and if so how did the test come out?

      No

Do you consider yourself to be religious? And if so what religion do you adhere to?

I distinguish between religion and spirituality. Religion is one of the most divisive and negative forces on our planet. When spirituality becomes a human organization, it degenerates into an instrument of social control. Religions are about wealth, power, control, etc. etc.

True spirituality is a good thing. God is within. You don't need a priest to find him.

Do you follow politics and if so are you more liberal or conservative?

I am a liberal. But recently I have concluded that the salvation of our planet will not come from governments and political parties. In the US, both parties are controlled by the corporations. We have a soft form of corporate fascism. Not good.

Our planet will be saved by a change in consciousness, not politics. We humans need to wake up and take care of each other and of our planet.

Are you a lucid dreamer? And if so have you ever felt the need to exagerate your dreams to fit in on this site?

I've had occasional LDs through out my life and have recently joined DV to improve that skill. I haven't been here long enough to start exaggerating. :-)

How much of your daily life do you spend thinking about your dreams?

I'm reading some LD books at the moment, so maybe a couple of hours.

If one start from the first principles of a living organism, then all traits are common, the only difference is the ability to express them. This is determined by environmental factors and intelligence.

"An environmental acquisition system of a living organism is that system of an organism which must acquire something from the environment, process that which it has acquired for a product that maintains and promotes the life of that organism."

IQ test claimed I was smarter. I don't give a damn. Except, if I really am as smart as it was claimed, then it is my responsibility to attempt to make a lasting contribution to humanity. That is a given.

      Somewhat on the vanilla side.

No, agnostic. However, I became, quite unaware of what was happening, a prophet. Not a prophet sent, just one in training. I was drafted. I find this very strange as I do not have the wit to understand it. Intelligence is behind it all, not mysticism.

No. I do not cultivate my alarm over how humanity is, but how it should be, and what it can be.

I use to. However, as part of my training, I was told I would have to be in the dark for a long time. Why I do not know. I was a few things at the time about my own life, which is strange as one usually never learns about their own future.,

Almost none. I think about my ability to express what I have learned.

Why can one or more words be or not be predicated of another? What is the right psychological foundation of man? How can it be attained?
Why was Plato one of the greatest psychologist in history of man?

I have solved the Delian Problem. I know about the seals on the Judeo-Christian Scripture. I see how metaphor is used to span over various intelligence ranges. I know how the text was sealed. The means is rational, however, I don't understand why things are done the way they are being done in history. I have been learning about the foundation of language because the mind can only process information correctly when it correctly understands the foundation of language. It is craft based. It is biologically based. It is not that difficult.

Oh, almost forgot: Don't you think that opinion polls is one of the poorest excuses for not exercising the mind that there is?
