And in answer to your question, there isn't really a best method. What's best for you might not work at all for someone else. When I first discovered lucid dreaming, I was quite intimidated by all the different techniques available, and opted for DILD, as it didn't involve me having to wake myself up throughout the night. However, I've recently discovered that WILDs seem like a better idea. Now I'm trying to find out the best times to try it.

But make sure that you've got the basics sorted, such as good recall. After that, just try experimenting until you find something that works for you.
