Hi all!, need help, my first lucid dream and it's weird/scary

Hi, I learn about lucid dream after hearing about the news of a shooting in Arizona and the guy was a lucid dreamer. I went online and searched on how to induce lucid dream, I tried it through a few days but no luck. Now, just yesterday morning I had one successful lucid dream but it was a really weird one too. I hope someone can help me interpret it.

It started of me saw myself waking up in a dream and then I felt back asleep. However, in the dream I couldn't fall back asleep because I knew that it was morning and I have to get up in about 30 mins later. So, I just kept closing my eyes trying to fall asleep but then suddenly I felt something touching my right shoulder and my left arm. I opened my eyes and I noticed 2 rats are sitting and cleaning themselves. One sat next to my right shoulder and other sat next to my left arm. The strange thing was that they don't look like rats but more like a baby mouse but then their fur are like rats. Their fur color aren't black or brown, but more like gray-ish like old people with gray hair.

I actually realized that I am really dreaming too. I can even felt that they were touching my shoulder and my arm as well while they were cleaning themselves. My whole body even had goosebump cause I felt scared and disgust. I thought to myself about how dirty rats are so I tried to push them off the couch (I always like to sleep on a couch than bed), but without disturbing them. So, I made a quick jerk of my body and the one on my right shoulder fell off the couch and ran off, while the one on my left arm got its tail stuck and kept trying to run but couldn't.

Suddenly, the dream was cut off and then I woke up. It was my first dream that I actually noticed that I am dreaming, had control over it, and felt the sensation of it too, but had to be weird and scary as well. What does anyone makes of it?

      thanks in advance.

I wouldn't look into that one too much. Not every dream means something, although if you tried really hard I guess it could. Just accept it for what it was, a lucid dream. I would look into it if you keep dreaming of rats or being in that particular position. But for now just enjoy having the ability to lucid dream!

Hi zEric, welcome to Dreamviews. Sometimes you just happen to become lucid in nightmares or dreams that are deemed "weird". That's just the way it goes. But once you're lucid, you are in control and you can mold the dream to your liking.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Congrats about getting lucid! Can't really say anything about interpreting.

Welcome to DV! Fear is a normal first response to becoming lucid, a very normal first response.. you learn to overcome it with time...

how does one has a full control over a dream once a person realizes that he is lucid? excluding the part where you have to check everytime you wonder that you are in a dream. If a beginner hadn't practice the "check yourself" routine.
Does everybody had dreams when they have few hours of sleep?
Because I can only dream when I didn't get enough sleep.

When you didn't get enough sleep? O.o

That can't be right. :S It should work the other way around, from what I understand.

It's true, my sleep routine is unhealthy though. I used to play games alot on the computer and to a point that I forgot about the time. So sometimes, once I realized that I only had 2-3hrs of sleep and I went straight to bed to sleep. However, my brain was still active from all the actions in the games so even though i slept my mind still active and it started to wonder around. That's when I started to have dreams.

      When I have a full sleep i can't dream.
