Hey guys, I've been looking through threads and just trying to learn as many methods as I can about lucid dreaming. From what I know so far, everyone usually(unless you are sleepwalking?) undergoes sleep paralysis right before they go to sleep. Then I was reading about the WILD technique about tricking your body into thinking your mind is asleep so that your body falls asleep first, which then in many cases leads to the hallucination of scary stuff around you, whether it be visual or auditory.

Now I was wondering, does the hallucinations occur due to you being awake while your body is asleep? From what I have read, some people do not experience anything scary at all... perhaps just a slight buzz throughout the body.

I was reading another tutorial called the DEILD at which one point you'll go through a short period of sleep paralysis(like what happens in WILD). I was wondering if this method will cause a person to experience anything scary like seeing a man just staring at you in your room.

I'm easily scared when it comes to this stuff. I nearly quit my part time job because I had to work at a basement of my university's dorm restaurant, which was rumored to be haunted, until my supervisor stopped sending me downstairs. So before I start anything other than hoping for a safe DILD, I'm hoping you guys can shed some light to which methods are completely safe from seeing scary shit as the last thing I want my mind to do is to create an image of a full body apparition of a girl walking through my door when I try to lucid dream.
