hi I'm new but very very interested

Hi I recently started to have nightmares very vivid ones so I started checking out online why. I stumbled upon lucid dreaming and straight away got into it I think Its going to be a great way to control these nightmares. Its bin about 4 days and obv I'm a beginner so I have just started recalling these dreams and writing them down in my journel along with the techniques I'm going to try I think I'm going to go with wbtb. But right now I'm jus recalling my dreams asking my self a lot through the day if I am dreaming and doing my rc I've gone with trying to push my finger through my palm and holding my nose and trying to breath. Tonight when I go to bed I'm going to think of my ld place and repeat in my I will have a lucid I have control over my concouis. I no I can't rush but I hope I'm on the right path and would some advice if anyone can help me reach my first ld thanks

It sounds like you are off to an excellent start. Is it refreshing to be excited about dreaming again, after some time being put off by nightmares?

      Hey there!

Good to see you're keeping a dream journal.

Check out this http://www.dreamviews.com/f20/beginn...eaming-124786/ if you haven't already.
Just wondering, what are you pairing WBTB with? Take a look at this, it has a list of the different techniques and a short description of each: http://www.dreamviews.com/f151/begin...son-ii-131245/

If you have any questions, let us know!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Hmm I would personally choose WBTB+MILD. It's what I did when I first started, and it turned out to be the best technique that suited me. I have experimented with different techniques now but I always go back to WBTB+MILD every now and then. For me, it is relatively easier and does not require as much mental preparation as WILD, which is what I needed when I first started out. But that's just me though, it can totally differ for everyone.

I suggest doing anything under DILD for your first few weeks, but don't think of it as a limitation though! If you really wish to try WILD, go ahead

Oh and don't worry about not being able to recall your dreams last night. It is pretty common, and I'm sure you'll be fine in no time. Just keep trying to recall them as much as you can, and the more you put effort into it (even if it doesnt work), the more your subconscious will put importance into it, and soon you will be able to recall them easily.

      Good luck

To be honest, some of the lucids are really short, and sometimes with no control at all. But most of the time, especially when I really dedicate myself to the technique and practices, the lucids are really worth all the attempts.

It feels absolutely awesome when you suddenly realize it's a dream, and all of it is created by your mind while your body is asleep. It's so surreal. And to top it all off, you can do anything at all! Fly, shoot lasers out of your hands, go to space, morph, etc. Just the thought of exploring a world all to your own everytime you sleep is what keeps up my enthusiasm to lucid dream.

If you were starting to question whether or not you are dreaming, you are getting very close. Did you realize it was a dream? Sometimes the feeling of waking up will make me realize I am dreaming. Frustrating, since it also means the dream is ending.
