My Name is Petunia Skrebbles, and I found this forum by accident

I was searching for something on Dog Pile search and within the lists of options I found one that sounded right and clicked on it and it brought me here. I am fascinated by the subject of lucid dreaming for a lot of reasons I won't bore you with right now and did not know it until I reached this site. I want to know more since, I seem to have two types of dreams, one type is what I call the repeater dream. There are several of those and I can remember them going all the way back to my childhood. The second type, I know I dreamed but I have no memory of it and as I get older that is the predominant dream condidition I am generally in. No memory of my dreams. I thought maybe I had lost the ability to dream. I also learned how to manipulate my dreams so I would not wake up if something happened and since one of my repeater dreams was about me falling out of a convertible going up a very steep hill, I had to do something because I would always wake up and I wanted to finish the dream.

So whenever I fall out of the car, I say "this is a dream, I can fly if I want to. Then I do, and then since I am flying, I decide to go visit places, like the grand canyon. LOL I love that place, since I took a 9 day white water rafting trip from AZ to Nev and it was the best experience of my life. Another story for another time. Anyway, that is why I decided to join.

I was a bit disappointed about the subject I did find that was a result of my dog pile search efforts. It seemed a poster put up a very good forum piece and had references etc, and everyone made fun of him. That made me nervous about how people react when they disagree with someone. I would like some reassurances that disagreeing is acceptable especially if someone has evidence the poster is wrong. I did not see any effort to prove the poster wrong and the source he used seemed to be valid, but no one proved otherwise. That was my only concern. I will wait til I get a response to know if this is a place for me, or if I am not the kind of person you would want here. Something like this should be mutual.

Petunia, I just joined this forum like you. You point out something that happens a lot, not just on the LD subject. People ridicule others when they either do not understand a topic being discussed, are jealous, or are simply miserable with their own life. I like to call these people "haters" and they are everywhere. Just go to a news site and read a very compelling and/or heartwarming story and read the comments below. There will always be those people who make nasty and unwarranted comments no matter how good something is. I think you will be happy here because this is a community where everyone seems to be working towards common goals. Best wishes to you.

      Welcome to the forum, Petunia!

Yes, we do allow disagreements here though rules require respect on the forum. We don't permit name-calling and have active moderators.

We do encourage lively debates and discussions on all kinds of topics, including controversial topics that may get heated. These can be found in the Lounge. These discussions are still moderated but we do our best to avoid destroying the spirit of respectful debate.

I hope you enjoy your time here and learn much about lucid dreaming. We are happy to help answer your questions!

      Pleasant dreams!

First of all I want to say thank you for all your comments that helps to reassure me that this a good place to be. I would like to know which thread would I place this problem with my dreams that I discussed above. I am sure I will have problems navigating until I get used to it, so if someone would point me in the recommended right direction, I would appreciate it. I am also interested in the theory that chemtrails and haarp are being used to interrupt our dream cycle. Has a thread on that subject been presented here yet? I hope I am not being a pest already. LOL

You're not being a pest, I think everybody here's friendly. I think this will be a good place to put those dreams (the convertible one sounds a lot like my first nightmare) and I haven't heard of that subject on here before but I'm not too active. It sounds like something obscure anyway, so I doubt it has a subject yet. This might be a good place to put it.
      Best of luck!

Actually, Petunia, I would recommend posting here for the chemtrails and haarp affecting dreams: http://www.dreamviews.com/f61/

Read the description of that forum at the top of the page.
