      New Initiate

      Hey everyone!

      I'll keep my intro short:

I've always had decent dream recall (usually at least 1/day), and occasionally I tend to have extremely strange and vivid dreams (though not lucid). When I was younger, up until university probably, I did have lucid dreams on rare occasions, but I often woke up immediately afterwards, or they wouldn't last long and the excitement would wake me up e.g. levitate, jump really high and across buildings, etc. Because of this, I never really thought much about lucid dreaming, but (somewhat) recently I learned that it's a skill that can be practiced, and very recently (5 days ago) I began reading about and practicing lucid dreaming, and here I am!

In the past 5 days my dream recall has spiked greatly (~5/night), and I achieved lucidity 3 times (all different nights), but the first two I woke up immediately. The 3rd time lasted a little longer, but I believe I lost control at one point and then woke up shortly thereafter.

I'm looking forward to more lucid dreams, and I'm glad to be here!

      Welcome to Dreamviews, Forward!

Looks like you are doing it right.

Yes, being excited can wake us up. The excitement should subside after few more LDs. I used to wake up from excitement and sheer happines when I realized I'm dreaming even after many lucids. But I was loving it anyway, so no complaints here.

If you have any questions, just ask. Btw, I love your avatar. So lush and that green...
