Oh and guys, please don't use paper plates.... The amount of bleach that goes in to them to get them all nice and white is ridiculous.
Saying nothing of the trees that are wasted to make something which is used once and then thrown out.
Normal plates are much more efficient and environmentally friendly. As long as you're using a biodegradable soap to clean them.
Either that, or at least get RECYCLED paper plates.

No doubt tomorrow she will go back to calling scientists close minded just to protect her ridiculous dogmas. I too get really riled up by people who are such incorrigible cognitive carwrecks, such utterly hypocritical doublethinkers... I sometimes wish we could form a separate nation for rational people to live in. Unfortunately the aforementioned people will probably end up convincing themselves that it's morally legitimate to bomb us for some reason.

      I AM FURIOUS!!!

I just got home from the grocery store. As I drove up to the house, I stopped because Rocky was home, but something was wrong with him.
He had a small animal trap attached to the end of his foot. I called hubby and asked if he could come out and play vet. He got it off but fell in the process. Rocky let out a huge yelp then Nuffanuff jumped out of my sons window and came to his dad's defense. He kept wanting to go after my hubby but I just shooed him.

Rocky's been missing for at least a couple of days. The trap had been connected to something but he broke it. Now he's just laying down and won't even eat. Now I need to Google the anatomy of a dogs paw and see if something could be broken. Thankfully, there were no teeth on the spring loaded trap so his skin ins't punctured.
The trap was so rusty hubby said it looks like it's been abandoned for about a year

Fucking idiots. If they're gonna put out traps, they should at least bring them back in later on.

I hope he's okay. If he's not eating anything, he might be dehydrated, since he was gone for so long.

My cat's been gone for a week now. He sometimes takes off for 3 or 4 days, but it's been just over a week since I've seen him.
Everyone thinks he's dead I don't know yet, but I hope I find him soon or he comes back.

Thanks He's been romping around with his son a little, so I'm optimistic.

Tommo. Is he neutered? If not he might just be out "tomming" around.
I hope he comes home soon.

Yeah he is neutered. They can still get horny but.... he's never been gone this long. So I'm not sure. I will go out today and look around though. Although he could be anywhere, someone could have taken him in etc. I will be optimistic for the time being too.

For Madonna, that was a surprisingly classy performance, I must say. Ended on a great note with Like a Prayer.

      And yeah, go Giants

      ^^ I thought so too!

Though, after last year's half time show.. well, let's just say it wasn't a tough act for Madonna to follow

You can say it. It was terrible, awful, horrible. Horrendous. All we wanted to hear was "Where is the Love?" and then kick them off the stage. (But really, isn't that all anyone wants to hear from the Black Eyed Peas live?) I don't know if any will top Bruce Springsteen any time soon, though. They'd need to bring in something BIG.

Also, I'm complaining because I haven't been to my favorite candy store in a long time and I want some of THESE

      And some of THESE

Good Lord is this stuff good. They really don't make candy like they used to.

EDIT: My mouth is watering just looking at that Teaberry gum, by far my favorite gum of all time. And those C. Howard lemon candies (and peppermint candies) are AMAZING. The texture, at first, is bizarre, since it's very smooth and not chalky as would be expected. BUT I NEED THEM INSIDE OF ME RIGHT NOW.

I think my consciousness is a little loose. I spent the last fifteen to twenty minutes or so rolling around in a sort of animalistic trance before remembering that the real world exists. Right now I'm still a little out there. @_@ Here's a free writing rave:

The brewmaster is prepared to accept your climax into the verge of unrelentlessness. Perhaps you'd like to acclimatize your changes before entering them into the sewing contest. If you do not abide by these rules and regulations you shall be punished to the fullest degree of the law. If you wish to adhere to these proceedings you should follow the turntable to the left and take your seat in the auditorium. Otherwise take your leave and alert your friends not to endure any further hijinx by the rocket man. If you wish to inform us of your progress after the show, always remember that you can email us or send a package full of presents to the moon.
Last edited by Alyzarin; 02-06-2012 at 05:03 AM. Reason: I guess it's more of a rave than a rant.

But, I just wanted to point out that some people genuinely believe these things and, well, they have the right. Still, I respect everything you said because of this:

You were making it clear that it's what you think, and you said likely. Besides, you didn't actually laugh at your family, so, that's always good too. You don't think in absolutes, so we're completely cool. Plus, I wonder on the sorts of things you do, too, and they fascinate me. I am too lazy to go back and find it now, but earlier someone said (I think it was you... I hope it was you, or I'll feel dumb! But this is such a long thread...) that they wondered about why they are who they are, and not someone else. That's something I wonder about all the time! And, with all the esoteric stuff I look into, I still hope to find a way to prove or disprove it, scientifically. So, I think we share that interest in the truth.

And, as Gavin says, you are very intelligent indeed! As I'm going through a history of psychology class this semester, I've got to say that you sound like Socrates when you call yourself ignorant. (Long story short: The oracle said he was the wisest around, and he didn't believe it. Finally he realized it was only because he knew he was ignorant, and others didn't even know that much.)

Short version of all this? I believe in some pretty crazy stuff and would probably make you facepalm if you heard half of it. But you're pretty smart and sensible, so it's all good.

Those look like confections from the UK

I had to read back a page to catch up.

The truths you find for yourself are always the most rewarding, even when everyone (or everypony) around you finds a truth that is completely contradictory to what you see. Don't get mad. Living life in the real world is a lot harder than you think. A lot of things change between the teen years and when you are older with a family. Sure, rocks aren't conscious and as long as we don't end up in a Star Trek episode where Spock has to meld with one we can all accept this as a truth...but it's not worth being upset with your family over. Hell, I keep quiet and tell my dad I love him even though I think he is having an affair.

Rational thinking isn't always part of the equation, when it comes to people you care about. Use that smart brain to find the truth that works for you.

And paper plates are bad...but sometimes so is washing dishes. I would kill for a dishwasher.

Just remembered, after putting my daughter to bed for the fourth time that the only time I ever got detention in school was when I pitted my rational mind against a girl I didn't like, and called her some words because she was being stupid. I felt good at the time but detention sucked. And the walk home was worse. But that's another story all by itself, for another time.

Hope your dog is okay, Zhaylin. Remember that animals have bones just the same way we do, and they can get hurt. Watch for limping, and when in doubt, get it checked out.

Tommo, put out food, and keep an eye on it, only during daytime. If your cat wants to come back, or can, the food will help.

Both are actually "old-world America", one from New York City, and one from Pennsylvania. They do have a charm to them, but the gum... I do not know what it tastes like other than amazing. It's Teaberry (apparently some sort of weird Canadian Wintergreen or something) but it's SOOO good, not too sweet, but not too floral.

They still use the original foil packaging for the candies, even though they are over 80 years old! So deliciously wonderful.

Hehe. Thanks. Well that wasn't drug-induced. I think I was actually better at spouting nonsense (or is it?) before I had my drug phase, my mind is all old and worn out now. I'm not sure how to really give advice in an overly meaningful way to try to get your brain to work that way, but to get a step closer I guess I could say... you just need to stop caring. If you let yourself drag the sandwiches out of your eyes, the caretaker will let you see into his new kaleidoscope.

      Haha that's crazy.

Or I guess not so crazy, I just checked out Wrigley's from 1920 (about 80 years ago), and since they're from Chicago, I guess I am about a -1 on the UK oversimplification. My bad ThePreserver

There's this grey cat hanging around recently too. I don't know if maybe that one killed my cat and is now taking the territory.
But I wouldn't want to be feeding that one if it did. My cat usually just comes back coz it knows food is inside.
I guess it's worth a try though, and if I see the grey cat I will smack it.

Ugh. My daughter had to be put to bed four times tonight. Hardly a life-altering issue, but still. Go to sleep!!!

Yes, I typed in the title of this thread and YOU are the thread starter, and the OP has nearly the exact same text -_-

How come you can only send 3 private messages every 60 minutes??? I've heard of forum flood control but that is ridiculous.
