Manitoba is a nice province - quieter, but housing is typically much less than in Ontario and Vancouver (it's ridiculously dense in those places). I live in Manitoba.

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Why don't you visit first? This doesn't really seem thought through...

Even if I visit, I'll still need a job etc. coz I don't wanna just go somewhere for like 2 weeks, maybe 3 months or so. I still need to know about the different places and basically everything I've been asking in this thread.
Which is why I created the thread.

Just looked at some pictures. Pretty much proof the world is insane if housing prices are lower there. It looks beautiful! And Aurora too? Damn....
Oh, I see you mean less houses, not lower prices lol Oh well. I like quiet places though.

While we're on the subject, I'm thinking about going to Canada for grad school.

West Coast of BC, simply stunning forestry, stunning ocean, totally worth the negatives (windy cold rainy winters). But other than that it's the greatest place on earth. Another good place is the other coast, in Newfoundland, quaint fishing communities and colourful houses.

BC really is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Every morning when I am biking to work I just stare up at the mountains. Fishing communities would be an interesting place to live or visit. I live near basically nothing, in a tiny little town. But I love it. If you like the outdoors BC is the place for you.

I didn't say I was gonna leave forever. I'm still gonna leave and go in to the bush for a little bit. I'll probably move to Canada after that. Plus, Canada is less built up, so you can basically live, as Zebra said near nothing lol

Of course we have that in Australia too. It's just different, and I don't like heat that much.

British Columbia is beautiful. Lived there much of my life, and it still amazes me. I've been all over BC, north to south to east to west and it's awesome.

Weather wise, BC isn't that bad. Anyone on here saying that the weather in BC is bad, trying living in Calgary/edmonton/lethbridge. BC is one of the more moderate provinces. In Southern BC, you can almost where a medium-heavy hoody all year round and be relatively comfortable. Winters don't go much below -10 C, and summers rarely go above 35 C. However, in Calgary or Lethbridge (Alberta) the temperature regularly drops below -30 and -40 in the winter with winds up to and beyond 80-90kmh. And in summer it can get above 40, and if you're in A city it get remarkably hot and muggy.

If you don't like the cold, avoid Alberta Winters. If you don't like occasional rain, avoid BC.

If you have any other questions let me know. I've been coast to coast in this country, and I'll try my best to answer any questions.

Well I love cold and rain. -40 might be pushing it. -10 doesn't sound too bad.
So BC or Newfoundland are looking pretty good. I think they are basically on opposite sides of Canada?

Have you been to the fishing communities mindwanderer?

So it isn't a commercial fishing place either? Even better

      Burst my bubble?
I wouldn't mind just staying there for a while and living on fish, exploring the area etc.

Canada's awesome, I was on the east coast a few years ago, and there was a tuna that some guys had caught that was bigger than a person, no joke. It was at least 6 feet long, and they had to use a chainsaw to cut it's head off, it was grisly but pretty cool.
