You know those moments where you really know that some big question that has plagued you for so long is finally answered and you just feel overwhelming relief? I just had one of those and I'm still riding the wave of happiness. My whole life my family has had at least one cat so I'm just used to having one around. Our only cat right now is pretty old and he'll probably be passing away soon, sadly. I'm sure it'll be a while before this happens, but I know I want to have another cat one day. They're too cool to not have. So for years I've wondered "What kind of cat am I going to get?", and now I know. There is no question anymore. This is the type of cat I'm getting:

      Spoiler for holy freaking crap:

I feel like the veil has finally been lifted, after all these years of living in ignorance. Life just feels so grand now.

I forget what those are called but yes they're awesome. If I could choose one type of cat it would be that one too or something similar. I love the spotted wild-cat look.

The problem is... they're REALLY expensive. I don't remember the exact price but it was something like $20,000, if that's the same cat as the one I'm thinking it is.

Post thing is happening for the first time to me. Want to edit my post but can't.

I guess bengal cats are leopard cats cross-bred with domestic cats, and they can look similar. This might have been what you meant in the first place.
      Spoiler for bengal cat:

Those look pretty awesome, too. And answer one of the questions that came to mine about leopard cats lol. But I am talking about the leopard cats themselves, that's the kind I would prefer.

I know, aren't they freaking adorable? Should be only about $19,600 to go until I have one!

      Good luck Aly.

@dutchraptor (had to look up euro-dollar converter) Yeah that price makes sense for bengal cats, which are a lot cheaper than leopard cats.

Leopard cats are wild cats, aren't they? I haven't looked it up much but but while skimming the Wiki it said something about them being listed as an endangered species and that in the US people aren't allowed to import or buy them. I don't know if you're serious about it but if you are, you might want to look into it more. Plus, since it's a wild cat it isn't domesticated and might not be very friendly. Or maybe that only happens with wild dogs (cats aren't very friendly anyway).

      Thanks.

Yes they are wild, but if I actually spend $20,000 on a cat I'm not going to let a small detail like that stop me lol. People do own them as pets, and even wild animals can be lovable if they're trained the right way. There are places where you're not allowed to own them because they're wild, and some subspecies of leopard cats are considered endangered, but not all of them. I already looked up a little bit about getting one, supposedly there are places in the US designed for raising them where you could get one, but I'm not sure exactly where the nearest one to me would be. I won't have to worry about it for quite a while, anyway.

That is a beautiful cat. They appeal to totally different audiences though, I can't just take one over the other lol. I'll just have to get one of each.

I made post in my blog, and one the people who commented on it was wondering that I might have a female tone of voice in my writing.

Which means my tulpa is becoming more expressive.

This makes me happy, since I thought I would be neglecting her unintentionally because of exams and all coming up.

Sorry aly I thought you were actually buying a bengal cat, I can understand why it would cost alot. However let me say this, I've owned two foxes so far and both came straight from the wild but never adjusted to home life no matter how much I cared for them. They were in love with raisins and you could essentialy feed them and stroke them all day but after about a year as they grew up they just left and starting living in the wild.
I've heard the same about getting other wild f1 animals for pets, although I would assume a cat wouldn't pose much of a problem since they seem to form close bonds to humans.

@snowycat, That cat is awesome, but I guess all cats are.

      Foxes as pets

Why do I live in America!? I want Foxes!

I am happy though. I just found out that my school is not due until the 3rd and I thought it was due today.

Went back to work after three weeks of rehab for my knee injury and it feels good! Knee is healing up nicely, people at work are really happy to see me and I'm doing pretty well with the projects I resumed right away. Feels good to know they want me on those and not the guy who stepped in for me. All in all I'm a happy camper.

Oh and it's Friday tomorrow. An entire weekend of boardgames and dreaming, no drinking for me

The thing is though, they're only wild by classification. I would be getting one that didn't actually live in the wild. So....

Wow, I think my cat might have that breed as an ancestor or they share ancestors, because my cat has almost those exact markings but isn't as fluffy. I love how my kitty looks and he's got a great personality.

      Spoiler for my cat:

I guess it depends what 'wild' means and how wild they really are. I'm sure they don't take them straight out of the jungle/forest/w/e and sell them to people. They must have been bred by people at some point, maybe even long enough to be slightly domesticated if there was any selection?

And it would be awesome to have a fox as a pet, though the lack of domestication might be an issue.

      That's so cool I can't... I can't even... Nice.

Having a domestic fox would be so amazing. Apparently, some people are working on bringing domesticated foxes to America The Domestic Fox !
I seem to remember reading a national geographic article on the subject a few years ago, but I can't seem to find it... hmmm...

I've read about an attempt to domesticate a certain type of fox to make them more friendly. It worked, but the foxes basically turned into dogs. Even though they were only selecting for friendliness with humans, the foxes' ears became floppy, they became more fluffy, their tails became more like dog tails and other differences. Those things must be on the same chromosome or something so they go together. This suggests that the wilder an animal looks, the wilder it will act. People like 'wild' looking animals that are friendly and behave domestically, but it might be difficult to get that combination.

I really like the attitude of foxes because they act more like cats than dogs, they have made up there own mind and they are perfectly fine with staying outside for a day or two, and yet they are really nice and cuddly when you wan't them to be. Much better than those "loyal" suck-up dogs who only wish to please me, that just annoys the hell outta me.

Leaving the subject of cats and domestication (temporarily I promise, you can get back to it in the next post if you want), my boyfriend will be here in like 7 hours. I'm guessing I won't be on DV as much, if at all, but don't want to write in the 'going away or returning' thread because I'm not sure, maybe I'll get some chances to go on DV.
I woke up too late. I was intent on waking up at 11am but that didn't happen, I woke up at 1, wrote down the 6 or so dreams I remembered (one involving me eating amazing chicken wings and I want them so badly now, don't normally dream about food), came on DV and now it's almost 2pm. I did not get what I needed to get done yesterday meaning I have a lot to today.
This is extremely exciting though. I've experienced intense moments of exhilarating anticipation before, but none quite like this. I just wish I could get everything done quickly, I do not want to be going through my stuff while he's here.

Thanks. We're leaving to pick him up at the airport in like 45 minutes. I'm so excited I haven't been able to eat all day. Stomach is churning, feel like my heart keeps skipping beats, shaking. Even though we lived together for half a year, and we've been on Skype for hours every day for the last 3 months and I'm completely comfortable with him, there's something really, really ridiculously exciting and nerve-wracking about seeing him in person for the first time in so long. In a good way though. I just wanna IDK JUST FUCKING AAAGFHGHH OIEJ FOEHFEAIH lol, feel like screaming in terror and ecstasy.

I watched the new Reisen til Julestjernen movie in the cinema today. It's a movie for children based on a play with the same name. I liked it. It was cute. It put me in a good mood. And since I saw the play in the theater when I was little, it was also very nostalgic.

I don't listen to a lot of glitch, but that's a really nice song. And I decided to look into some more stuff by Savant just now and holy crap! I found a download called "Savant - 3 Albums ( 2011 - 2012 ) Dubstep, Glitch Hop, Electro House"!! Electro house is my favorite genre and dubstep is a close second.

This is going to be the reason I start listening to glitch. It's too late to turn back now.

I love that feeling. X) Fear is a very sexy emotion.
