Sefalik's kitchen looks much nicer than the one in my last studio apartment (oh so many years ago). There are advantages to having everything in one place (much easier to clean!) but right now my office/bedroom is two steps from the kitchen, so I can't complain

I don't even know what the fuck that's supposed to mean. How could you even be offended by that?

Maybe something like: Be grateful that you possess little X, and don't fret that you can't have the oh so great and unreachable Y.

It's basically saying that you should appreciate what you have, however small it may be, and not go chasing after things that are out of your reach.

It can have a positive or a negative message, depending on how you look at it. You could interpret it as meaning that you should settle with what you've got, and not bother striving for impossible dreams. Or it could be viewed as saying that we should be grateful for the little joys in life, and not go chasing after things we think will make us happier.

I think it's sexual innuendo.

I think it's just trying to say that the sum of something's parts are greater than the whole. So much so that even one part is worth more than the whole, going as far as to imply that even considering the functions the whole is capable of (flight, since the bird is in the air) somehow still isn't worth as much.

I'm pretty much with you on this one. This explanation requires the fewest liberal interpretations which means it's most likely to be the correct answer. Dead birds can be cooked more easily than living birds.

Here is some urban decay I encountered today. It doesn't stand out too much from the brick rubble, but there's a trash barrel fire in the center.
