      Lol, it's definitely part of the reason. The other part is hard to explain, but it comes down to me being addicted to fighting 'addictions'. Not that I was really addicted, but I still kinda get a kick from refraining. And the last part are the beforementioned positive side-effects.

      I've never gone more than a week without an orgasm. I don't want to try to. I pulled off two different challenges of going one week without it, and when I finally got to the end of officially one week, in both cases, the time had come for another one right there on the spot. I will never put myself through that again. I would have to be in a straight jacket while wearing locked metal underwear by myself in a locked room to make it a year, and after that I would be too crazy to let out.

      I guess the appeal for me is I can stop doing something as long as I set my mind to it. It feels to me there is something in life I can do because I want to, not because I'm forced to.

      Yes, if one stops thinking about it all the time, it definitely becomes easier. And doing it in your sleep doesn't mean failure. After all, even if you did, there is no way you could've stopped it, and you held back all the concious fapping for a month

      What I meant about the thought of refraining was something that I've told you earlier in this thread. Where I sustained two weeks before coming to this thread and said I'm in this challenge. The mindset I had was to just go on as long as possible, no goal and anything, without proclaiming to anyone, that's why it was easier.

      Yeah that 24hrs felt like two days to me, and given I spent most of it in front of a computer....it was almost inevitable. No idea how I managed a month before, jesus.

      I've began one of the variations of polyphasic sleeping, so 24hrs of wakefulness was required to shock the body, stress it, to make it undergo physiological adaptation to a different routine.

      Well, the wakefulness stresses the body to force it into a new routine - once adapted, I can only presume the 'stress' will be non-existent or largely mitigated. Aside from the extra time gained from polyphasic sleeping, I wish to have more episodes of accessible REM with which to try LD techniques.

      My theory was that setting a goal was the best way to go. I hate to see it proven wrong Suppose that's what happens to theories though, they get owned by better ones. Good going either way
