Exclamation If you have heard of Monsanto Corp, and would like to do something about it...

I have started a petition to launch a federal investigation into Monsanto. You can sign it here:
      http://wh.gov/eLKf

You will need an account there to sign the petition. But I think its a place where you will want one if you are involved in politics in any way.

Honorable, but you're way too late.

      See here
United States of Monsanto: GMO giant is now litigation proof - YouTube

"Obama signed the Agriculture Appropriations Bill into law on Tuesday....A provision in the law known as the "Monsanto Protection Act" protects the biotech industry from being sued in a court of law."

Yeah, forget doing an investigation - our representatives are ready to bend down and lick Monsantos ass. Americans need to realize we have a government that has ignored and denied the constitution and is no longer operating with the Checks and Balances in which it was designed to have.

Why can Monsanto copyright genes? Because they literally wrote the law, slid through doors, stepped into government roles and passed it. It was no accident, Monsanto is our FDA and now they are our senators and congressmen passing provisions like the one above!!

In other words, were not gonna get anywhere following standard procedure in creating change. Whether its signing petitions, writing letters, or hoping and begging that our representatives have a conscious.

No, we need to get pissed off and make a lot of noise!!

It certainly does appear as though a legal response has been taken out of the picture. It's almost as though they're begging for a violent response.

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

For the record I do not believe violence is ever the best response to a situation.

That said, if these guys are a threat to the American people, not to mention those in other countries, and those we have elected to protect us can't or won't, then the issue can not be resolved legally.

It certainly can not be resolved spiritually, unless we could get a few thousand of us together who truly, deeply believe in manifestation, to visualize this company being shut down, its leaders brought to justice, it's finances taken away.

If that is not an option, and I am not sure this is appropriate for this site, [illegal suggestion edited out]

I am serious about this, but if we are to take this any further it probably shouldn't be done here. I will post a link to my forums as soon as they are running. Anyone interested in taking action, assuming of course that the petition is useless, will be encouraged to go there and continue our discussion. For now you can PM me to contact me directly.

I don't think there ever will be a federal investigation for Monsanto, they're half of the government.

It's hard to really figure out how to approach this situation. I would not go with violence, personally, but I understand why some people would feel it's necessary at this point. Honestly though, Monsanto has become so imbedded in the United States' corrupt agriculture that I think what's necessary is a nation wide transition to farmers' markets and food coops. The nice thing about the strategy is that it works through spreading awareness, first of how corrupt and destructive Monsanto and the food industry is, and secondly how available alternatives are. It also doesn't require everyone to move forward at once, it can happen a little at a time. It allows each of us to take responsibility for our own food.

This is, of course, very difficult for some people depending on their situation, and in certain circumstances people may need to come together to figure out how to transport non-Monsanto food and essentially replace the US food infrastructure. This will also require breaking the law for a lot of people who are not allowed to grow gardens in their front lawn. That is the sort of bad law that must be broken in this era, though. For honestly, we are at war.

I just watched a documentary about indian cotton farmers. Monsanto pushed their genetically altered seads on farmers and they are commiting suicides, because they can't get any decent crops from it to get out of debt. The traditional seeds are not available any more. With these new seeds, you need to buy them every year, when the traditional ones, I guess they were able to reuse them. Monsanto owns rights to 90% of genetically altered crops.
