On heavy duty spin cycle it sort of sounds a bit like the tortured howls of 1000 undead writhing in the sulphury pits of hell mixed with a train with carriages full of scrap iron sliding down the road with no wheels, on fire, into a bell factory.
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

It came in through my arm, which is burnt, then it must have gone down through my body and out through my feet."
Wouldn't it have come in up through his feet, gone up through his body, and out through his arm? =p. Didn't he ever take a science class!?

Almost forgot all about this thread. Due to thread value (and the fact that I don't think the DV Paperboy has covered this yet), I'm going to go ahead and necro this thread, for the following article.

Official: Scores injured in Reno air race crash

      [Edit]
      And video:

(Warning: may not be for the faint of heart)

I've just got one word: ...Ouch.

      [Edit x2]
New developments in the story tell that the pilot did not survive the crash.

The kid behind the "attempted" Gumby Robbery was interviewed by one of our news stations. He said that he likes dressing up in those kinds of costumes and walking around but the guy working behind the counter said he was trying to rob him. He just goes on saying it was just a joke, and how he was misunderstood by the cashier.

In a way I kind of feel inclined to believe him since he didn't have a gun and his friend wasn't covering his face. But you never know I guess. I've been involved in a joke before that got me in trouble, except mine didn't make headlines.

      For those who don't know:

As others have said, what the fuck. lol
In 2005 a young man collapsed in an internet cafe in the city of Taegu after playing the game StarCraft almost continuously for 50 hours. He went into cardiac arrest and died at a local hospital.
I know this should be sad and serious, but I laughed.

The only problem I have with that article is that by using such extreme examples, the impression is given that that kind of thing is more common than it is. Stories like that might make some parents with kids who play a little too many video-games much more worried than they should be that their child is going to go out and kill his grandmother or something.

I was thinking the exact same thing. That happens in a lot of these articles. For no reason they just cite 5 other examples of the same thing happening. Like with that article with the cerebral palsy kid where his dad killed him that O posted a while ago. It's like instilling a major confirmation bias, and makes less intelligent people think that this sort of thing just happens all the time.

Well yeah but this one muslim guy I know likes rock music so that means the beatles were trying to incite sharia law. Plus if you listen to them backwards it sounds like shit.
