So it's been a while since my last attempt, thanks to a crazy sleep schedule due to the Olympics. But I tried again last night with success, bringing my success rate up to 80% when taking over 6mg. Keep in mind, in many cases I've left enough time between attempts. I had several lucid dreams, many of a decent length, and by the time they died out on their own, I was often coming to in another scene lucid from pretty much the very beginning. In fact, all my lucids seemed to basically happen in a row to me.

So last night I went to be around 12:40a, taking 1mg melatonin sublingual. My alarm went off at 4:45a, and I took 6mg of galantamine, 16g of liquid lecithin yielding around 480mg of choline, and then sat back and meditated for about 15 minutes or so. Then went to bed. I seemed to have a harder time getting back to sleep than normal. I almost felt like I might not go back to sleep at all, but eventually I did. Also, many times galantamine gives me some good feelings as I fall back to sleep, about an hour in (since I think I'm often still awake at this point, even if there have been moments of lost consciousness leading up to it), but this last time was the first time I didn't get those feelings. I did have some feelings, but they were notably different, not obviously pleasurable, and not as present in many ways altogether. I'm thinking this is either because of the melatonin I took, or because of the ciltep stack I've been taking lately. More about that next.

So I definitely want to mention that I feel the ciltep stack I've been taking has been helping with my lucid dreaming. The night before last I had amazing lucid dreams too, making two nights in a row, one with no bedtime supps, and one as described above. Ciltep is a stack used to improved long term memory, increase learning, often improves peoples moods, and even seems to help with depression. It's quite an interesting stack. My results have been minimal compared to how it has revolutionized some people's life, but I still seem to attribute certain improvements to it, include my dreams. Just a hunch. You can read about ciltep here: Chemically induced LTP? - Brain Health - LONGECITY and you can get ciltep here or read the ingredients and get the components yourself: naturalstacks.com CILTEP® Nootropic Stack for Optimal Mental Performance | Natural Stacks

So yes, my dreams last night were very good. I accomplished many goals I set out for. Like I tried to end up with a mountain dew to drink, and I did end up with a tasty red soda. When I thought about color and looked around, all looked as though in real life. I purposely tried to take in the realness of the events. I was walking down the street outside and saw those colors, I got a whiff in the air that smells like a bus that has just gone by, on the street. I flung my soda in an arc to fling out soda on the ground, and so the red hit the ground and then fizz, just like it really would. I have so many neat experiences in my dreams, finding little cubby holes and exploring. I tend to become lucid in a room of some sort and then explore from there. Last night I did one of the monthly dream tasks that dreamviews holds, for February 2014 (Basic Task ii): http://www.dreamviews.com/tasks-mont...ry-2014-a.html

Nice! Well done. I had a near-lucid (I watched the dream form with (I think) awareness, but quickly lost lucidity) with my last galantamine attempt (recorded in the other galantamine thread, "2nd galantamine experience"). Getting back to sleep was really tough and took a super long time (hours). I took it pretty late, though.

So last night I did this again with success, giving me a 5 out 6 success record with all 6mg+ attempts. 2 of those 5 attempts were 8mg, and I've settled on 6mg as working for me. The one 8mg attempt that didn't work for me was after recent repeated use, which is never recommended anyway.

I went to bed at 1:30a, set an alarm for 5:30p that of course didn't go off at 5:30a (pm vs. am -- DOH!), but I woke up naturally at 6:30a. At that time I took 6mg of galantamine and a couple big swigs of liquid lecithin, probably being ~500mg choline. I also ate 4 mint oreos (which are vegan! like me). I sat in my chair with a blanket on for ~15min thinking of dreams and doing visualizations, and then lay down. Like so very often, it took a long time to get back to sleep. I don't usually mind this, and I didn't last night either. I ended up dreaming per the same style I have been lately, which is several lucid dreams one after the other, with no waking in between, and where I am lucid from pretty much the entire onset of each dream.

Also, I must point out, my lucid dreaming ratio on galantamine is much higher that without. My last lucid dream was the last time I took galantamine in my previous post, so it is certainly upping my success, for sure. Pretty much it's been on demand for me. And remember, I tend to do a decent amount of dream work through the day, plus I have a long history of lucid dreaming, and get a lot of sleep, eat well, exercise, and supplement.

So not last night but the night before, I did my usual except with 8mg of galantamine instead of the 6mg I've been using, and I had no lucid dreams. However, this was during several days of very non-dreaming sleep, due perhaps to supplement changes I've made recently. For several days prior to this I don't remember a single dream, and then after taking the galantamine, I did at least dream. So even this seems like a success of sorts, giving how dry I'd been. I just didn't want to leave out a report. That puts my lucidity success at 5/7. I've seen others wait until they were having decent dreaming before taking galantamine, and perhaps that's something for me to keep in mind as well depending on the effect I'm looking for.

I have tried also taking 300 mg tryptophan at bedtime, 250 mg Tyrosine after 3 or 4 hours, then the Galantamine and choline along with .3 mg yohimbe an hour and a half after that. Result: nearly two hours of lucid dreaming.

Also using phenylpiracetam (3-400 mg) in powder form 4 to 5 hours after taking the galantine.

Maybe this will help in your experiments
Hey Delapaix, thanks for the advice, and apologies that I missed it! I have been off this post just lately.
I think when I next try again I might have a go with more Choline. I had been doing one 200mg with 4 mg Galantamine, but then went on to 8mg with still only one 200mg Choline. Sounds like you are doing a lot more Choline.
I guess for creating Acetylcholine you need enough Choline, regardless of the amount of inhibitor (Galantamine)?

My success rate with galantamine is now 6/8, and I haven't skipped any report ins (this thread is exhaustive of all my attempts).

Last night I took 8mg of galantamine, 1g of choline bitartrate, and 500mg of tyrosine, and had several good lucid moments. Not as good before, where I would lucid dream for like ever until I woke up -- this time I transitioned into normal dreams at some point. But still good.

I'm on a segmented sleep schedule (I sleep from 12:30a to 4a, and then again from 5:30a to 9a), so I took this stuff before my second sleep, and then let myself sleep a little later but was still up fairly early.

I plan a supp fest for the next couple of weeks, mixing things up between the galantamine/choline mix, amino acids (Yuschak 3), and B6, but for added confusion I'm jet lagged so won't draw any final conclusions. Main thing I want to do is make sure I get right back to sleep on the galantamine nights.

      What's the tyrosine for?

Thanks for the report, let's keep 'em coming, always great to get more data.

Tyrosine is a precursor to dopamine and norepinephrine, so it's directly related to the ideas of that last Yuschak article you mentioned. However, I'm think maybe it dulls my results, I'm not sure. But I would think it would support them. Maybe on supp nights I should take the tyrosine before sleep and give it a chance to absorb, and then do the rest WBTB.

I'm not sure tyrosine would actually increase the production of dopamine and norepinephrine being that the reaction pathways for forming these are usually saturated as is. So it probably wouldn't do much of anything unless you had a deficiency.

I'm not personally sure of much in this regard, but I have run into glowing notes on what tyrosine supplementation can do for a person, and it's used by some (and me) pre-workout. Tons of people use it for a myriad other reasons as well. And the galantamine apparently ups your usage of those neurotransmitters. So again, I don't know what is really in it for someone, but I'm happy to do it.

Another G night last night, got back to sleep this time (yay), had only normal dreams (boo), not even a hint of vividness or lucidity. However I drank some wine before bed, and still am quite tired from jet lag. Took 2x4mg Galantamind, 1x300mg Choline Bitartrate, 1x300mg Alpha-GPC, and all I got was slight headache/hung-over feeling in the morning. Which could have been from the alcohol who knows. I thought I'd try just to see if the G could cut through the fog and I guess it could not. Took about an hour to get back to sleep but did get back to sleep and then had multiple wakings each one with recall for the next 3 hours. Fairly typical dreams unfortunately.

My success rate is now 6/9, having taken 6mg last night and not becoming lucid. However, it did makes my dreams that I had much more vivid. My dreaming hasn't been high lately, decent, but not high. 8mg might of done it. I also took just under a gram of choline bitartrate. I believe I only ever had 8mg not work once, but I'd have to re-read through the thread to verify that.

I guess I need to get back to a good sleep routine (recover from the time change) and get some recall back before trying again. So far I'm about 0 for 6 with Galantamine/choline (not even vivid dreams). The only supplement that has ever produced any difference from non-supplement dreaming is the muscle builder blend. Any interesting idea is that energy (food/sugar) is required in order to dream well (Dthought I think noted this). Nfri combines a breakfast WBTB with his Galantamine. The muscle builder blend contains plenty of calories and energy along with the amino acids, and it may be that extra factor that makes the difference!

My success rate is now 7 out of 10.

Last night I took 8mg galantamine, along with just under a gram of choline bitartrate (after 3.5hr asleep, and 1.5 awake) -- listened to some music (a nice feature) then went to sleep. The thing is, I know very well that I lucid dreamt and that I did so for a decent length of time, but I recall only one scene. This past year I have gotten ~very~ used to the idea that lucidity doesn't guarantee recall, this is just the biggest example of that I've had so far. I know certain states of the brain interfere with memory consolidation, so I wonder if these supps have an affect there for me, maybe it combination with other personal factors.

Nice. Dd you wake from the lucid,? I always do so far so the memory of them is strong, just 1 or 2 times I lost lucidity and kept dreaming, actually a few times Ld ended with FA which does interfere with perfect recall of the lucid.

I'm going to probably try a 12mg with 300 bitartrate and 600 alpha gpc tonight to see how it goes now that my recall is on the way back, maybe with some 5htp for rem supression/rebound

Nope -- only woke up later after all my sleep, and several other dreams that I do recall.

Well I just had my first "success" with G. I'm about 1/7 now. Clearly my issue with G is getting back to sleep. I took 100mg 5-HTP for REM rebound and deep initial sleep, woke about 4.5 hours from alarm, took 2x4mg Galantamind, 1x300mg choline bitartrate, 2x300mg Alpha-GPC for a total of about 1100mg cholines (the Galantamind has some in it). The boosted alpha-gpc dosage helped I think because it takes me a long time to get back to sleep and it has a 3 hour to peak plasma level according to Yuschak. I was awake from about 3:45 to 7:45am, in and out of bed, had a mini meal at 5:45 (3 small corn tortillas, about 1/3 an avacado, small glass of milk) as I was starting to feel hungry and wanted to make sure my brain was properly fueled for dreaming. I had a banana at 3:45am along with the pills to make sure they all actually hit my stomach and don't just stick in my throat.

      Spoiler for dreams:

Very cool! And congrats on ToTM!

I always think you sleep pretty long before gotting up the first time. Even 4.5 hrs is more than I prefer, and you have often done more than that! I'd try 3.5 to 4 -- it might help you get back to sleep quicker =)

I've also had issues getting back to sleep after dosing, but it seems to be easier now (maybe acclimation, maybe my different sleep schedule).

Hey thanks for the suggestion. The reason I didn't try even earlier was I really had to be able to function today and wanted the deep restful sleep from the REM suppression. I hadn't really thought about going earlier than 4 hours, I'll keep that in mind and work that in to my experiments. I also tend to indulge in overly-stimulating day dreaming of all the awesome things I'll do in my upcoming multiple-hour-long ultra vivid epic LDs . I need to invoke the discipline right away to instantly go back to sleep, no daydreaming. Yes and probably new supplement user jitters/excitement. Same thing with MILD/SSILD: they used to keep me awake but now I've learned how to do them with a relaxing mindset.

Opening the capsules at bedtime and pouring them into a glass so I can just pour in some water and gulp it all down in seconds and get right back to sleep would also help I think.

Does anyone know if pre-mixing these ingredients in water and letting them stand for about 4 hours would lose any potency? That would be the ultimate: wake up, grab the bottle/glass, slurp it down, go right back to sleep.

it very well be fine if you mix it just b4 bed -- the best thing to do is try it and see =)

you can lookup the parts of your cocktail with the word hydrolysis, "choline bitartrate hydrolysis", "galantamine hydrolysis", etc. hydrolysis is one way in which things break down in water

I could probably manage mixing the powder into water and mixing it really quickly and drinking it and getting right back to sleep. Since the Alpha-GPC has a 3 hour to peak plasma levels, doing this at 3 hrs after bedtime should work well since around 6 hrs is my peak dreaming time. I think that togetherwith either melatonin or 5-HTP bedtime REM suppression can work with that too. melatonin supposedly has a really short half-life. I could even take probably up to 1mg melatonin together with it since it should be mostly out of the system by 3 hours later in time for the alpha-gpc to hit. I will probably not take extra choline bitartrate in this way since it will most likely be out of the system while I'm still in deep sleep from the REM supression. Something else to try!

Galantamine&Choline sux and I'll tell you why

When you start taking them your 1st experiences are awsome. You have long deep vivid dreams, you can have OBEs as well.

But with time - and pretty quickly for me -, your body&mind get accustomed to it. Even if you took them just once a week like I did.

The vibrations I got the 1st time (before exiting my body) lower dramatically, and the OBEs you have (LD or AP whatever) become very unstable and dont last more than a few secs - a few minutes at most -.

With time and repetition you build resistance to those supplements and dont enjoy their full effects anymore.

My advice is to forget them and learn how to perform LD by natural ways. Because those experience will be more stable, will last longer, and will be less artificial by themselves.

I dont take anymore Galantamine/Choline inspite of still having them in my kitchen.

Believe me when I say that G&C on the long run will ruin your true abilities to lucid dreams.

Do you think it had a detrimental effect to your supp-free attempts afterwards, or were/are you "just" back to where you had been before trying them out?

I no longer believe G&C affected my "natural" ability. First of all I've taken it less than 10 times over 5 months. I just am right now in a "bursty" dreaming phase. I have not had any awe-inspiring G&C LDs yet. My best LDs and NLDs for that matter have been all natural, in fact. I take a long time to get back to sleep on G&C, so I usually miss the window of opportunity, my next try will be even earlier to make sure I get back to sleep.

Natural ability is surely the way to go in the long term. But supplements can help give a little nudge.

Yuschak writes about the need to always "mix things up" supplement-wise so that your body doesn't "know what to expect."
