Question Has this ever happened to you

I have heard many different stories of dream characters who intervene or aggressively act against you while lucid. I've heard stories of bodyguards appearing when people search for their dream guide, bullies blocking off locations, ect. Never actually experiencing any of this.

Today I had a dream I was with my friend and I was trying to become lucid... Which is weird considering I know that lucidity is a change in thought process. I felt like I had to work to achieve that state in my dream, and while I tried to focus my attention, three tall skinny characters came up and cornered me in response to my effort. The dream slowly cut off there and I don't understand why they came at me like they did.

Have you ever had a DC try and stop you Upon lucidity, stop you from finding your dream guide, or try and stop you from achieving something dream?

Had a lucid dream just the other night where I was trying to fly. I couldn't, so I decided to find a jetpack. I found it behind a bush. As I was strapping it on, some man comes over and starts talking to me. He informs me that he's the head of some dream committee or something to look after this neighborhood (which is my neighborhood in real life) . He then told me that the didn't like people messing around with their dreams. This was a hint not to fly. When I continued to try to strap on the jetpack, he further threatened me until I took it off and resolved to find another way to fly. Then I woke up, not being able to.

Well, there was this one guy who would sing and dance around me and if I tried to walk away he would grab my ankle and prevent me from going anywhere. Eventually he stopped and became sad because I didn´t want to dance with him. Also sometimes if I make my DCs angry they tend to follow me and do the same as this guy, (Grab my ankle.) but mostly they don´t care about it being a dream and continue what they were doing. But they´re usually helpful and kind if I need any help or talk to them.

I had a DC tell me that I wasn't dreaming once. I told them to, quote, "stop being delusional". Then I walked off.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

In one of my LDs I started in the middle of nowhere, became lucid and then started flying. When I landed I immediately started being attacked by my DCs, one was trying to rob me or something and after I dealt with him a group of guys with machine guns pulled up in a van and we started exchanging gunfire. In that LD I had no intention whatsoever of fighting, I just wanted to explore and practice my control, but they ambushed me... I'll admit the gunfight was pretty fun, but I didn't get to do what I wanted so it frustrated me.

Also this was kind of odd for one because so far I haven't had many DCs around me once I become lucid. Usually it's just me and one "friendly" DC who keeps quiet and sometimes follows me.

Thank you everyone for your replies, this is exactly what I was talking about. Oniman, do you think this was your minds creation/imagination or something else... Possibly higher than yourself?

      Once when I was little, before I had any idea of what lucid dreaming was, or that you could even control your dreams or be aware that you were dreaming, I had this dream (and this is all I remember of it);
I was on my garden terrace, when I realised I was dreaming. A portal erupted from the ground. You all know that thing about dreams where something is just printed in your mind, you just know something, without anybody told you or without any signs? Printed in my mind was "You're not supposed to know you're dreaming. Go through the portal".. I hesitated for a moment, but went into the portal and woke up.

I frequently get this bitch Katie turning up in my dreams and kidnapping me and such. She's my dream guide's sis, I fucking love his family. Not.

My dream characters can be real jerks sometimes. They try to talk me out of being lucid, block me from achieving my goals. It is frustrating to think that at the core of it all, I am the one responsible for all this jackassery.

From what I can hear, it sounds like you're blocking someone else from doing what they want.

I have a theory that entering lucidity is the same process as that of enlightenment, and while theoretically you can acheive either in no time at all, either way you have to put in some effort for it to really happen. Perhaps they noticed you were working at the real form of lucidity-practical superpower and they were afraid of what you could do if you ascended beyond them...

Last night I had a metaphysical war with a demon who interrupted my dream, eventually I realized perception was still my rules and banished him whence he came.

What do you mean by "Metaphysical??" Also, you say things like "perhaps they noticed," who's "they?" Please tell me more about your theory if you want.

It sounds like your average run of the mill bad dream. When you say that you are responsible, you mean that it's all your creation in your mind right?

I had a lucid where I ran into them and they tried to explain some stuff to me. He has parents, a pair of twin brothers, another brother (skylar), Katie and two other sisters. I think. I see the twins, katie and skylar sometimes, but not the others. I don't know if it's just my brain messing with me though...

Maybe it's your mind's way of telling you that you are denying something, for example your feelings?

I would agree with you as far as interpreting my dreams, but there is one thing different about this. The people I've talked to and experiences I've heard have always been when advancing in a dream- becoming lucid, achieving a dream goal, finding a drea guide.- Most of the cases have been upon lucidity, that seems like a sign to me. I'm relly wanting some proof that their something... else causing this consistancy.

I meant he had a malicious intent and I decided to prove that he couldn't affect my spiritual consteration. Meanwhile he was utterly pompous thinking nothing I did could stop him at it, so I teleported in front of him and then thrust my hand into his head (a power i've been practcing is moving through things) then dissolved his corporeal body into the ether.

They was referring to the "tall skinny characters" who made you wake, I thought maybe they were some sort of conscious entities, perhaps an orginization or cabbal that didn't want you infringing on their territory by becoming lucid.

The theory is that the same initial action of disposition and contemplation required for becoming lucid in a dream is what a bhudda meditates on when acheiving enlightenment, and this action of self observation and growing awareness is very attractive on the astral plane so these beings noticed you and began warding you off, as if you became aware that in one moment total power can be conquered they couldn't stop you.

far out, I know, just a thought.

I don't have DC's try and stop me, but i've been told that when my friend tried to dream share with me, he found me next to an endless brick wall - more than once. The other day I had my first lucid in 2 weeks, and decided to use a seemingly harmless, small, brick wall to walk through and teleport. As soon as I touched it, I woke up almost instantly.

Or maybe it's your natural instinct to hold back.
In real life you would act reluctant. Perhaps the DC is your feeling of going too far.
