Question Not sure if Lucid Dream?

      Hey there!
I recently got interested in the topic of Lucid Dreams, but never really tried to induce a lucid dream yet, although I am willing to learn and gain experience.

But let's get to the point.
A few days ago I had a dream, of which I remember the ending pretty well, and some parts of the dream too, but just short bits.
I dreamt that I woke up in some bed (no significant place I think) and went outside (probably not directly, but I don't remember what I did in between )
I remember that I did some stuff, met some friends, but it's all hazy, and probably insignificant.

Here comes the weird/cool part (at least to me, since I am not so experienced in LD)
I was standing somewhere next to a bus stop with other people around me. I then realized I was dreaming, and remembered the movie "Inception" which you probably all know. I remembered that they woke up from dreams using that "drop" sensation, so like falling from somewhere/onto something. I decided I need to wake up, so I let myself fall backwards onto the ground, but instead of hitting the ground, I experienced a gravity shift and started to fall downwards, but parallell to the ground, onto the bus stop (all the people around me too). The moment I hit the bus stop, I woke up in real life.

I was wondering if this could have been a lucid dream, or just the dream's plot was such, that it made me think i had a LD. I didn't really feel like I was in control of the dream, but I remember the ending clearly, and it seemed I did to some extent control it.
What is your opinion on it guys?
      Thanks!

If you were aware of the fact you were dreaming it was a lucid dream. Congratulations!

If you were not aware it was a dream, it wasn't a lucid dream.

That's pretty much it. Your description sounds like you were lucid but you should decide how it compares to other experiences.

I have never seen the movie Inception.

      What melanieb said!

Also, Inception is a great film. Saw it before I really knew what LDing was, and loved the idea of it.

      Ooh, their breath is warm
      And they smell like sleep
And they say they take me home

I have had dreams like this before. Where instead of being lucid, you dream of being lucid. Its really down to the dreamer on deciding if its a lucid or not. Were you actually aware that you were dreaming or did you just say "oh im dreaming" and then continue with the dream?

If you are actually aware that you are dreaming, then thats a lucid! No matter how short or how little of control you had.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

      those are common

if you read alot about lucid dream and all that stuff eventualy you will probably get a few of these dreams, that's why alot of people stop trying because they think it's a lucid dream but infact it isnt, it's just a dream where you dream that its a lucid dream but trust me. if it was a real lucid dream, you wouldnt wanna wake up and you would be in awe. did it feel like you could control yourself and your own decisions or did it felt like you were ''just going along'' ?
